Adventure Medical Ultralight & Watertight .7 First Aid Kit
You like to go light, but you like to go prepared. Now you can do both with Adventure Medical's new Ultralight Series kits. Adventure racers, backpackers, hikers, bikers, and climbers all rave about the Ultralight .7. Paddlers love its waterproof design which consists of an inner leakproof bag with airtight seal (certified waterproof to 200') and a tough, lightweight outer bag made of 1.3oz silicone impregnated ripstop nylon. This outer bag also has the handiest little stuff pocket for driver's license, credit card, keys, etc. With this kit, you get just enough hospital quality supplies for a couple of ultralight freaks all wrapped up in an ultralight package. SEE ULTRALIGHT .5 FOR LIGHTER VERSION WITH SUPPLIES FOR 1 PERSON (AMK0017).
Bottom Line: Like to go light? Cut corners, but don't cut the cut-curing kit. Get the Ultralight .7 instead.
I carry one of these kits when I go on short/overnight trips. It also has some items that make it useful in the concrete jungle, so I got a second one to carry in my truck. The fact that it's waterproof was definitely a plus when deciding which kit to choose.
This kit has everything you need for a short day trip hike in the woods, to a several day long backcountry excursion. I carry this thing pretty much everywhere, in my truck on when I travel, or in my bag when I'm hiking out backcountry touring. I have had to use it on many occasions, but the equipment is pretty easy to replace, except for a few items, that I would just replace the whole kit if I had the need to use them.
this has everything you will need for a day or weekend trip. i would suggest going a little bigger for a multi day tour. the case is really lightweight but is tough enough to take some crashing and banging in your pack.
So I've already recommended that you get a, "Adventure Medical QuikClot Sport Silver Clotting Sponge" (item #AMK0101) & this, "Adventure Medical Ultralight & Watertight .7 First Aid Kit" is even more of a must have in the backcountry! Seriously people, you have room for your candy, rum & green stuff (I meant blueberries)...so how the hell can you look in the mirror before a big backpacking trip when you don't own one of these? You bring a stupid camera along, but no medical kit? What's your problem, it weighs nothing & it could save your life. I was pissed yesterday in the Uintas when I started sneezing a bunch & didn't remember my allergy medication, but guess what? This kit had some antihistamine right there...don't be a douche-canoe, buy one & feel safe (safer, sorry) in the backcountry! :)
I have now used this kit for a few things and so far everything is great. The best piece of the kit might be the tweezers which worked great for getting a nasty splinter out.
