Atomic Janak Telemark Ski - 2006

Prepare for float, float and more float with the Atomic Janak Telemark Ski. The Janak's magnesium construction, smooth flex, and lightweight strength provide massive floatation and allow you to lap everyone else in the backcountry lugging heavy fatty planks. When you're exploring the backcountry without a lift for miles, the Atomic Janak Telemark Ski is both light and wide enough to keep you from sinking into the fluffy stuff like Artax in the swamps of sadness. Rip up the resort on your way back to the lifts with rigid torsional flex and gentle side cut that give surprising grip and edging on packed snow.

Bottom Line: Big on everything but weight, the Atomic Janak Telemark Ski is ready to kill the steep and deep.

These skis kick butt

By:
January 24, 2007

I have tried a bunch of fat skis, and Janaks were the best for me. They have all the flotation, but are really responsive and carve surprisingly well. This is critical for me because I ski mainly in the CO Front Range on all kinds of wind-damaged junk, crust, as well as good pow, and these skis are the perfect tool. Note - I'm only 145 pounds, so Janaks may not work for bigger folks.

Bring on the Pow

By:

The former Teledaddy is a solid powder performer. I purchased this ski to compliment my R:EX's. This ski is great for all powder conditions, and still has enough stiffness for zoomin the groomers on the way back down. For hardpack and icy conditions, I'll stick to the R:EX's.
I mounted Dynafit Comfort bindings and so far I am pleased with my purchase.

A big ski, super stable and predictable

By:
December 20, 2006

This ski is characteristically Atomic in feel, stable and predictable. Stiffer than some or many other ski, it holds its own in all snow, although getting from edge to edge on groomers takes some getting used to and big boots are a must to control this big daddy!
