Alpina Blazer Touring Boot - 2005

If you can't bear to part with your old skis, but your old boots are falling apart, then the Alpina Blazer Nordic Ski Boot is your savior. The Blazer cross country boot has a modern upper and lacing system mated to a 75mm sole that fits old 3-pin bindings. The cuff sits just above your ankle for enhanced support, and you can tighten or loosen the laces depending on whether you need more control of your skis or prefer a comfy fit on long flatland tours.

Bottom Line: I'll never leave you, old wooden skis! I promise!

Very good quality but narrow fit

By:
January 30, 2007

As a long time x-country skier, I still love my 3 hole pin bindings. There is nothing wrong with them and yet the boots for them are diappearing.

These boots are of very good quality but unfortunately narrow for me. If you decide to buy them, you might want to go "up a size". Jack

Boots too narrow

By:
January 3, 2007

I applaud Alpina for selling 3-pin boots. There are many used 3-pin skis out there, but few good used boots. However, these Blazer boots were too narrow. I have normal feet but the boots pinched, and I had to return them.
The sizing chart did not work for these boots (Dec 2006). I wear a 10.5 USA so, based on their chart, I ordered a 44. When the box arrived, it was plainly labeled USA size 10, and they were too small. I returned for a size 45, which was labeled a size 10.5 on the box. When the manufacturer discloses the USA size, you should let us know before we purchase! The size 45 boots were still too narrow, so I returned those too.

Recommended!

These boots are terrific.

They are very comfortable and very warm.

We've been skiing in some real deep snow here and these boots do the job.

Great support and no sore ankles either, even when they were brand new.

Many Thanks-Ramon and Donna

Cross-country Ski Boots

By:
March 1, 2007

These boots are amazing. I am so happy that I found them. My mother had an old pair of skis that I wanted to use, but her boots were too big for me. It's hard to find 3-pin boots around here, so finding these online was surprising. They are working out great though and I am enjoying the snow!!

Perfect boots

By:
December 31, 2003

These boots are great. They are very easy to slip into with thick socks and the tongue does not bunch up and pinch when tightening the laces. They are very comfortable and warm--just the right amount of lining.

Blaze 3-pin Touring Boot

By:
February 23, 2004

I have some older skis, and my boots had worn out. After searching around for a couple of years, I landed on your web site. I was thrilled to locate some 3-pin touring boots and ordered them. They fit perfectly and I wore them with great comfort, right from the start. The price was reasonable, too. Can't beat that!

Great shoes for the price

By:
February 12, 2007

I got a pair for my wife when her other 3 prong shoes broke. She liked them so much that I bought a pair and they work great. Price is right for the shoes; good strong construction.

Comfortable Boots

By:
February 9, 2005

These economical boots are comfortable right from the start. I cross country ski 7 or 8 times a year and love my old skis. I don't want to pay for high tech telemarking boots or replace my skis just to get a better selection of boots - with these, I don't have to.

Alpina Snow boots

I got these shoes for my husband at Christmas and they are great! He is very pleased with how warm they are as well as the height of the shoe around the ankle area. He is a happy skier!

Exceeded my expectations.

By:
January 25, 2005

I seriously doubted that any boots this cheap would be worth much. I was surprised at the overall quality and comfort. I went skiing two days in a row with these boots right out of the box and couldn't find a single thing bad to say about them. If you're looking for a great general-purpose 3-pin boot, you'd be crazy to spend more money when you have these boots on the market.

Blaze boots were a welcome find

By:
March 7, 2005

After many years of service, my old 3-pin boots finally gave up the ghost. I began shopping for a new pair, and was delighted to find a pair of 3-pin boots at a reasonable price. These boots lace up quickly and are warm and comfortable. Now I can look forward to many more years of service from my Bonna 1800's!

I Returned this item ...

By:

... did not like these boots at all. I realize that it's difficult to find 3pin binding boots, but these really are not a good solution to the problem. Their look says "low quality item".

Took the boots to Cascade, Idaho for a weekend and they performed great. The soles didn't gather ice like my first pair did. They are sized for THICK wool socks!!

By:
January 31, 2007

Here in Denver we finally are having a real winter with lots of snow. What a great time to get out my old cross country skis, but, alas, my boots were too small, but I was able to get your boots that worked with my old skis and now I can ski right out my front door and it has been great! The boots fit well and are very comfortable without having to spend a lot of $$ for a whole new package. Yippee!!

Cross Country Touring Boot

By:
January 4, 2006

I purchased a pair of the Blazer Touring Boots for my wife. She says the boots are comfortable, warm and "easy" on her feet. It took me a while to find the "three pin" style boot, particularly in her size. This site had it and it was easy to order. Delivery was quick and my wife was happy to have a new pair of boots for her cross country skis during our visit up North.

Alpina Blazer Touring Boot

By:
January 9, 2006

This is a boot for someone who doesn't mind the old-fashioned three-pin binding, but needs new boots.

Quite simply, that's it, but you could also throw in the sturdy grip and good connection to my ski bindings to make this an appealing item.

Murphy's law

By:
January 13, 2006

I had purchased some wooden Norwegian cross country skis at a yard sale thinking that if nothing else, decorations for the porch. I love snow but hate running, and I thought that the skis would get me to try the sport. I didn't think I could ever find a boot, and the cost of replacing the binding and purchasing new state-of-the-art boots and bindings was way too much for me. Who wants to invest so much in something that their not even sure that they like. I was given a cost effective alternative. Cheers.

By:
February 24, 2006

These boots are comfortable and good looking too. I'm really enjoying them. Boots that fit the Old Style bindings are getting really hard to find, so I was excited to find them here.

Blazer Touring Boot

By:
March 20, 2006

Being an avid x-c skier, I was out on a backcountry trail when my right boot tore at the toe. Having to walkout was a chore to say the least. I then got on the internet and found these boots and ordered a pair and have used them a lot, they are comfortable and work just as you would expect. Thank you
Bruce

Alpina Blazer

By:
March 23, 2006

I have been able to use these boots twice now. They are very light (compared to downhill boots) and comfortable. My only complaint is that there isn't much grip on them, but I don't think they are intended for backcountry use, just touring. They lace up quickly and seem to be able to withstand a lot of use. They were a great buy for a beginner like me.

3-pin cross country boots

By:
March 29, 2006

I bought size 15 (50 European) and they just fit, allowing for a liner and thick sock. Be advised, however, these boots are narrow, so if you have a wide foot they might not work for you. At each step and in every way, I got good service from the staff here.

Cross country ski boots

By:
August 9, 2006

I've been putting off buying new ones for a few years (my old ones were literally falling apart);thinking I could find a pair around town. I love my old skis and didn't want to get rid of them. I was so excited when I received them I had to try them on and even skiied around the living room with them. Can't wait for the snow now! I even told a few friends about the site. Thanks again!

Alpina Blazer

By:
December 11, 2006

This Alpina boot is for light touring. The heel counter is soft. The ankle support and insulation are lightweight. Most other boots that are available for 3-pin bindings seem to be for backcountry use (heavier weight construction) and over $100.

Blazinng Fun

By:
January 19, 2007

The Blazer touring boot is a very comfortable boot for the traditional 3 pin binding user. Why pay for high priced boots when you can enjoy the snow and scenery in these boots at a fraction of the price. The Blazer boots fit the budget just right and come in many sizes so your whole family can join in the fun.
