Rottefella NNN Touring Auto Binding - 2004

The Alpina NNN Touring binding is a user-friendly binding-it's stable on the track and a breeze to step in and out of. Simply press your ski pole tip into the toe piece for an easy release. Two grooves transmit power efficiently from boot to binding to ski, while notches in the grooves work to preserve the ski's natural flex pattern. The wide 56mm platform offers excellent edge control and stability. We recommend the NNN Touring Binding for use with the TR20 boot.

Bottom Line: The most user-friendly touring binding on the market.

Great!

We're really enjoying our skis and our bindings! (We've had a ton of snow here in Northern New Mexico and have been hitting the trails three times a week!)

Aside from the excellent products, we really enjoyed our shopping experience with the folks at Backcountry.

Excellent customer service. (We've been telling folks about you!)

Thanks again-Ramon and Donna

Replacing old style bindings with new style bindings.

By:

Installing the new NNN bindings was very easy. There were two small problems, however. First the mathematical conversion of the required 3.6 mm diameter drill size from metric to inch. Divide 3.6/25.4 = .141 inch which is approximately 9/64 inch. Secondly the paper template used to locate the holes was printed slightly off-center. Once the centerline of the template was accurately located onto the centerline of the skis the rest was easy. The wood type self-tapping screws worked well. I am very happy with the new bindings. They are easier to use than the old style three pin bindings.

roteffela nordic binding

By:

I almost lost a friend using Rottefella step-in bindings. She gets very cold and we were out in the alpine basin three hours from humanity. She was getting colder and colder, and those bindings froze under her feet after we took a break and we couldn't get them back on because ice was in a place under the binding plate and we couldn't chip it out. After much panic and prayer and a half hour of freezing, I finally bashed it out. Stress like this I don't need in the backcountry.
