Lightweight Organizer

Picked this up to store the little items. In the size M it fits nicely in the top of my Osprey Atmos 65 pack. If you're sick of fishing through your pack for those smaller items (compass, cliff bars, headlamp, etc.) I would definitely recommend getting one of these. Great value and highly durable.

Great alternative to a stuff sack

Useful little storage pouch. Good construction. I purchased it to carry some medical supplies and other small things that I needed to keep in one place while traveling. It has the advantage over a small stuff sack of being very easy to dig through without pulling everything else out or spilling things.

Exactly What I Was Looking For

I got the big one for food and the little one for toiletries.
I wanted a lightweight food bag that I could see into and that opened the long way to limit the digging around. Bingo! The OR Zip Sack does the job.

Same for the little one as a ditty bag.

Wonderful

These are fantastic. The zipper is tough and easy to operate with gloves or mittens. They work great as a food bag, and pack really well due to the rectangular shape. I'm always surprised how much I can fit inside these things. Haven't tested against rodents yet, and I wouldn't want to.

is this bad a single compartment or does it open up to several smaller compartments?

It is a single compartment (with no dividers or interior pockets).

Outdoor Research Zip Sack

Good bags for smaller articles--very light weight, hold more than it seems they should; don't know about water resistance (luckily so far). They are great for organizing my backpack on hiking trips.

Perfect!

These are perfect for organizing your gear. Not only for trekking since they are very light weight but also for general travel. You will need all three sizes!

Very light and useful

These are great sacks. They are very lightweight (e.g., only 1.4 ounces for the medium) but surprisingly durable. The long zipper (that goes from side to side rather than just along the top) makes it very easy to visualize your items. The side handles make it easy to pull the sack out of a pack, and the price is very reasonable. What's not to like?
