The Outdoor Research Zenith Mitt has the versatility you need for mountaineering expeditions and other cold-weather activities. The welded construction of the durable and lightweight Ventia shell keeps moisture out during snowier parts of your trek. The Zenith Mitt's Ergo Form construction and Cordura palm guarantees efficiency and optimal grip during technical parts of your climb. When the clouds part and temps rise, the removable glove liner stands on its own thanks to stellar wind resistance and breathability. Motion Wrap leather palm construction adds dexterity.

Bottom Line: Check out the durability and duality of the two-in-one Outdoor Research Zenith Mitts.

I'm looking for a a really warm mitten for skiing. I was in -8 F weather in Big Sky, Montana last month and my very expensive pair of Grandoe MC2 gloves did not cut it. I have been told that what I need is a good pair of mittens with a removable insulated glove liner, waterproof construction (i.e., Gortex or similiar) taped or welded seams, PolarLoft or equivalent insulation in the mitten, gauntlet, leather or equivalent in the palm, tethers for the mittens and not so bulky that you can't operate a ski pole. I looked at the Outdoor Research Alti mittens and I am not sure that they would work for skiing. And, I choked on the retail price. I'm looking for guidance, thanks.

The liner is awesome! at the bottom i once gave these mittens a A+ boy was i wrong. the wool and leather work amazing. the shell however i have sent back twice now. once the threads started coming loose and now the palm grips are tearing off. this is with minimal use. i would not recommend. trust me, u will be disappointed

The liner glove alone is worth the price. The mittens do fit a little small, I would size up one size. Very warm and adequate for most of the Americas. I'm with +1Time on the palms. Very tough, and grippy, but you do lose much feeling with the palms. The Duoclinch gauntlet closure is awesome. Very simple and quick to use.

This is a great mitten. I live in alaska and these suckers keep me warm in the winter. A+ mitten. The wool liners are extremely warm. The dexterity of the mitten is awesome, great for casual wear and for the more extreme sport activities! Buy it! u won't regret it
