The Outdoor Research Women's Whirlwind Hoodie is an excellent midlayer for winter backcountry ski sessions and an even better shell for shoulder-season climbing and running. This pullover softshell's lightweight recycled polyester woven fabric is water-resistant, wind-resistant, and surprisingly breathable for your comfort; spandex gives you the stretch you need to move freely. Outdoor Research added a form-fitting hood and 1/4-length ventilating front zipper that's offset to prevent stacking under or over other zippers. The fold-over mitten cuffs feature thumb- and finger-holes to combine protection with a touch of dexterity.
