Outdoor Research made the Men's Tremor Pants with breathable, water-resistant WindStopper Soft Shell fabric to keep you comfortable as you work toward the summit or drop into another couloir. Skiers and climbers can cool themselves with the Tremor Pants' thigh vents, and if it's cold and blowing hard, zip 'em up and enjoy the insulation of fuzzy tricot-backed softshell. Removable gaiters keep snow out of your boots when you posthole or lay tracks in the freshies. Outdoor Research included two hand pockets and two cargo pockets, so you always have room to stash your snacks or lip balm.

I couldn't agree more with the reviews below. I purchased these pants for my summit to Kilimanjaro as well, and they were perfect. I'm 6'2", 220, 34" waist, and the large fit me perfectly with room for baselayers. Kept me warm with a baselayer during a brutal night of freezing temps and 30 mph winds to the summit. I can't wait to wear them for other active pursuits!

Amazing pants.

Imagine skiing, or skinning in your pajamas! Pajamas with a double crotch zipper! These pants move so well, keep you so warm, yet vent so well, I really have a hard time grabbing any other pair to use . Phenomenal design!

Bought these in March of 2008,and used for about 50 ski days before they begn todelaminate....till then the best ski pants I ever had. backcountry honored their return policy...the best! But did not have my size, so I ordered elsewhere...and unfortunately they changes the pants....they widened the cuffs and made the pants a bit baggier...not like the staight leg picture shown here..too bad, as they were extremely stylish as well...I e mailed OR and they assured me that the pants design hadn't changed since 2006...I say they are lying...I wore them for 2 season and one of the reasons I bought them over others was the less baggy and more straight legged style...now like most other ski pants...too long, too wide a cuff, and a bit baggier. Stinks! Oh, and the description here says 2 cargo pockets...but there is only 1. Disappointed in design change and OR's rfusal to acknowledge it.

Kilimanjaro on top of the Barranco Wall, heading towards the Barafu Camp. These are the best pants ever due to their versatility & construction. As you can see from this picture & the other picture on Kilimanjaro, I'm using these in both 60 degree weather & 10 degree weather and am very comfortable in both. Their ability to keep me warm/cool, dry and comfortable allowed me to be confident that they would hold up no matter what mother nature decided to throw at them.

Kilimanjaro @ Uhuru Peak. This was taken in late July, 2009.The pants are amazing and definitely warm enough the whole way up the mountain. We saw temps in the low 20's with the windchill knocking it down to single digits, but the pants were very solid. They do have relatively smaller pockets, but that's what your pack is for anyways. The only real negative is that the tougher material near the inner ankle developed creases & created a 1/2" tear. Not a huge deal, but it did occur as the result of just regular hiking. Speaking of which, these are nice pants to hike in. They aren't bulky or stiff like some other shell pants or skiing-specific pants. The tricot lining makes these as comfortable as a pair flannel PJ's.

I've also taken these skiing on very cold, windy, snowy/wet days and they have never leaked. I usually wear a thin pear of thermals underneath, but I have yet to be too cold in these pants. The opposite is usually the problem, but the thigh vents also do an amazing job of sucking in air to keep your legs cool when needed.

I'm 5'11, 170 and have a 31" waist. The MEDIUM fits really well and leaves just enough room for a layer or two to be tucked in. If you're any heavier or have a 33"+ waist, you may want to consider a large. Listen to the reviews, these are the only pants you will ever need!

Most perfect pants ever created

I've been using these things for a while now, mainly for alpine climbing, and they're amazing! They move extremely well. They are well proportioned in every different are of the pants...ie. side zips, gaitors. OR really thought out the ventilation of these pants with the thigh zips that work extremely well. I read before I purchased them that the pockets were too small but I thought of the alternative of having large pockets and trying to find things with cold fingers or thin gloves on and felt that having smaller pockets was much better than not being able to find anything. The one thing you might look at, depending on your waist, is to pick up some suspenders from OR. My waist was a bit too small for large's but I needed the length so suspenders are working out really well! By far my most used and favorite pants in the collection!

Riddle me this Batman: what can't these pants do? They are totally windproof, thanks to the Gore Windstopper lining, they are highly water resistant (see: waterproof minus seam taping), they have a nice stretch fit, they are warm, and they're great for picking up gear girls. The built in gaiter (zips out if you don't want it) is awesome for skiing/snowboarding, and the side vents are absolutely invaluable.

I took these babies out skiing and they were awesome. I could have used another layer of insulation underneath (it was -27 Celsius), but they cut the wind beautifully. They also came ice climbing with me in early January. Again, needed more insulation underneath (it was -34 Celsius) but they stood up to the ice and snow. I put a couple holes in them with my crampons, but they are easily patched. Alternatively OR offers the most comprehensive warranty in the business and they could fix/replace the pants for free.

I'll have to agree with Evan Stevens' review that the pockets are a little small. I also found the fit to be a touch on the small side. I'm a 32" waist and the medium was almost too small. My roommate is a 33-34" waist and had to get a large.

That being said these are easily my favorite winter pants for skiing/ice climbing/looking hardcore at the grocery store. I would recommend them to everyone.

I really have had a hard time finding a better, more versatile backcountry ski pant. Fabrics are mapped out well, thigh vents are huge and double zippered so you can open them even with a harness on. Inner gaiter for those are fans, and if not, zip them out and lighten the pant! Fabric does great in the elements, all but the wettest storm days keep me dry and nice.

My only two gripes are that the pockets are a little small for stuffing lots of things in - personally I like bigger cargo style pockets, and second the lower pant leg is a little tight to get over ski boots.

I took these out during storms in California to walk the dog for a good 45 minutes to an hour. During all that wind and torrential rain, the pants held up really well. I was warm and dry before the seams near the crotch and knees started leaking about 35 minutes in. They're water-resistant, not water proof so I wasn't really upset.

I expected a little bit better, but was pretty pleased with how it held up given the weather. In drizzle and snowy conditions I think these pants would hold up great.

Love the removable gaiters and the water tight zips. All in all, a great soft shell pants that can be your do everything pair.
