Durable and dependable...runs small.

I bought this jacket to complete my winter duck and goose hunting setup, with the idea I'd slip it on over my base layers but under my camo shell when I'm not moving. Very nice build quality, excellent hood and great pockets, it also packs down well and it's VERY warm. My one complaint is the fit is specifically right across the mid-chest, about at the top of my rib cage. I wear mostly medium in every other brand, including those that run small (looking at you Patagucci) but this one fits well except right on that one area. I mostly wear it partially unzipped because it's so warm but still I'm very surprised.

feathers everywhere

A cloud of tiny feathers follows me everywhere I go. Disappointing, because I like the jacket from a fitment point of view. But the down feathers just go everywhere. I've had other down jackets and they haven't shed like this. I've stopped wearing it because I'm tired of vacuuming my truck after every time I drive somewhere with it on.

Outdoor Research makes incredibly thoughtful, high quality gear ? and this jacket exemplifies the company?s best qualities. It?s a lightweight, well-fit jacket that?s warm enough for three-season use in Minnesota. What made it my go-to has to be its versatility. The many pockets, the weight and fit, the hood ? this jacket checks all the boxes. And it packs down very small, which is excellent for travel, camping and more. Getting it on sale is a treat, but really, I?d pay full price and not bat an eye. It?s well worth it.
