Like putting your hands in an oven, but less painful.

Lined with the same sandwich of 800+ fill down and PrimaLoft One synthetic insulation as their namesake jacket, and then wrapped in a waterproof membrane, the Outdoor Research Stormbound Mittens offer serious cold-weather and water protection at magical price. By stuffing the super-warm down between two layers of water-resistant PrimaLoft, Outdoor Research ensured that the Stormbound would have amazing insulating powers even in soggy conditions. Just to be sure the down stays warm, it also has a Pertex Shield+ waterproof and breathable membrane, and a supple leather palm that makes it easy to use your hands without exposing them to the elements. An idiot cord loops around your wrist to prevent dropped gloves, and the hook-and-loop wrist closure seals out sneaky snow and devious drafts.

    Rotten fit

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Primaloft and down! Figured these would be an awesome mitten with that combination. Absolutely do not like the fit and will be returning these today. First it is narrow. I have small hands but in order to fit in these I would have to go up to a medium which would make them too long and therefore cold fingers. The part I really don't like however is that the inside has finger separators...like a lobster. I tried them on numerous times but was unable to get a comfortable fit. And quite frankly I don't want my fingers separated, I want them together...hence MITTENS. Unimpressed with the design, too bad.

Sharon, I am so sorry these didnt work for your hands. I will ask the designers to review the fit, but we havent had that comment before. Still, thank you so much for writing. The separated fingers on the inside are a personal preference - lots of people love them , and there are some that don't. I hear where you are coming from though.

    Thank you for writing,

Mittens that you can work in.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Love these mittens, got them for my wife for Christmas and she likes the fact that they are very warm and she can still to tasks with them on. Not to bulky, just right!

    Excellent

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Bought these for my GF. She gets cold hands and was looking for a decent mitt that was low profile and warm. As a comparison, the BD mercury mitt was too bulky. Trial run yesterday skiing in cold windy conditions (temp dropped through the day, but 7" of fresh). Her opinion? Excellent. Easy to use with her ski poles, hands were toasty (actually quite warm like I've never seen with her) and not too bulky. She is extremely pleased with these mitts!

Are these WOMEN'S MITTS? Because the comments and recommendations of the page lead me to believe they are. They look awesome, but I'm wondering if I'd need a bigger size in case they are women's sizes. Does anyone know?
