Borrowing design and technology from the award-winning Lodestar, Outdoor Research has streamlined the lightweight and breathable Men's Speedstar Softshell Jacket. The Speedstar takes the same hybrid softshell construction concept and applies it for use across a broader temperature range, utilizing the more breathable Polartec Power Shield O2. Its specially constructed face precisely controls airflow to block 96% of wind while allowing the remaining 4% to circulate within the fabric, maximizing the transmission of moisture vapor. 25% warmer than any other Power Shield fabric, the Polartec Power Shield High Loft is the warmest, lightest and most compressible softshell fabric on the market. Featuring a smooth, tightly woven face, the fabric features the abrasion resistance of only the best shells.

This athletic fit jacket also features a fully adjustable hood with molded brim, able conceal your head and face from fierce winter winds. When the winter winters aren't blowing, you can open the two-way underarm vents and loosen the hem cinch for a more breathable experience. DWR-coated zippers line the vents and the napoleon chest pockets to block out moisture where it is most unwelcome.
