If you wanted your beanie to fit like a lumpy old scarf or towel turban, you'd just use a scarf or a towel. Outdoor Research made the Sonic Beanie for those who would prefer a hat that contours the head nicely and actually deflects the wind. The Sonic Beanie's flat-seam paneled construction and Windstopper fleece protects you on a cool, blustery day, while still letting perspiration breathe away.

My sister bought this beanie for my husband for Christmas, it fits great and he loves it. It is very compact and he likes that he can easily wear it under his snowboarding, skateboarding, or motorcycle helmet.

I didn't prefer the tight fit of this hat. It doesn't have a flatering fit but it does do a good job of blocking the wind. The tight fit also wasn't very comfortable but if you are wearing it under a helmet it might be nice.

This is a great hat for cold days, or just days to block the wind. The fit is strange because of the ear covers and the OR symbol is on one side on the middle, but it's easy to figure out after initial confusion. I wear a 7 fitted cap, and a small was the best size, I comparably have a smaller head though.
