Outdoor Research Solitude Softshell Pant - Women's

I LOVE these pants and they have become my "uniform" during winters here in New England. I wear them for dog walks in the woods on local trails, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, skating too. They are also easy to wear with a pair of long underwear underneath when it gets really frigid. I'm 5'5" 130 lbs and wear a small. They are not bulky like a regular "ski" pant which is why I love them . I bought them 3-4 years ago (I have two pairs) and they are in great shape after a lot of use.

I have used these pants for winter hiking, backpacking and cross-country skiing in the Northeast US. I'm very happy with them; they fit very well - not too snug but not baggy at all - and are perfect for activities when you are constantly moving. The material is substantial enough to keep me warm in temperatures below freezing, but still breathes and lets moisture escape so that I don't sweat. The vents on the side of the legs also help to do the same. The inner lining feels very comfy against my skin. My only complaint is that the pockets are very tiny and poorly placed. I can't reach them when I have a pack on. I wish there were at least one pocket on the side of the leg where I could store small items. Overall, an excellent softshell pant!

Love my Solitude Pants...they move with me as I ice climb and ski. Great fit and they hold their shape after lots of wear and care. I stay warm (plenty of room for a pair of expedition weight long underwear when conditions get frigid), dry and the fabric holds its own next to my sharp crampons. I am usually a "basic black" soft shell pants kinda gal...but I went with the brown Solitude Pants and just love the different look. I pair the pants with the blue OR Mithril Soft Shell Jacket and love the combination. Sweet!!!!

it says 2 hand pockets, am I only one who has only one pocket?? Its so small, my hand doesnt fit in there. Why on earth is that SO small, and where the heck is the other pocket? The pants seem like they would be awesome if they had 2 decent sized pockets. It seems weird that nobody else has mentioned this. The one pocket is pretty useless.

The Outdoor Research Women's Solitude Pant is absolutely awesome! Great fit, incredibly comfortable, perfect weight, flexibility and warmth. These were my "go to" snowshoe pants for the entire season. In fact, I love them so much, I now own three pairs. These pants rock!!

Very comfortable, soft and provide good protection against the wind. I am using them for hiking/taking dog out in a winter. I am normaly wear size M but had to go up to L even it has a bit more room. Pricy but quality is very good and hope will last me for years.

I found these to fun a little small, but would be a super sweet soft shell otherwise, they would be great for doing things like snowshoeing, the move super well
