Description

Grab the Outdoor Research Sequence Zip Tee when you can't decide between wool or synthetic base layers.

Outdoor Research combines the technical performance of wool and polyester with the Men's Sequence Zip Tee. Dri-Release wool fabric dries quicker than regular wool, doesn't cause itching, and fights odors to keep your tent from smelling like a locker room after a week on the trail. The Outdoor Research Sequence Zip Tee makes a great choice for anything from an afternoon hike to a two-week trip into the mountains.

I got a little smaller size and use it as a base layer. The high collar ads warmth and the zipper makes for nice ventilation. I think if I got a bigger one I would wear it just as a shirt.

Is it a shirt? Or is it a sweater? I say it's the perfect light sweater to wear over a tee-shirt. The poly-wool combo makes it great for sport or even under a sport coat. Bought one, then another right away. Be careful, though, about color and styling. There are different versions of the black shirt, for example. One is all black, another comes with a neon-green zipper. Some have discreet logos on the sleeve, others have the logo on the chest. Small differences, maybe, but still... Nothing to worry about considering Backcountry's no-hassle return policy. If you don't get the one you want, send it back.

Love it! Its comfortable, provides warmth, zips and it looks nice. Wore mine (Leaf color) to a nice dinner the other night with jeans and leather boots. Tomorrow I'll be warming up on some boulders with it.

I returned mine because it started to get a touch of polyester funk on the second day of wearing it. And that was a shame because it was comfortable, wicked well, and looked really nice--my girlfriend even commented about how sharp it looked for a technical shirt.

It was a tiny bit itchy. Not enough to bother me if it hadn't warned me off with that plastic-clothing funk trace. I'll suffer for a little bit of itch in exchange for several backcountry days without polypro toxicity.

OR does not disappoint !!! It's a really nice pullover!!! One problem.... They run small. I'm going to exchange it for a bigger size. Really like the material!

UPDATE:

I got the 2010 version in black and the functionality is as great as it is on my old one, but it is much softer and doesn't itch any more.

So now: 5 Stars
-------------------- End update

I wore it in the deserts of Utah and in the could autumn in the Appalachian mountains and at home it always did a great job.

Upsides:
- great wicking
- excellent temperature management
- great quality
- I could not get it to stink, and I tried hard
- dries much faster than wool alone

Downside:
- only four stars because it itches if you have sensitive skin due to the wool part in it (even more than an icebreaker merino)

Info:
If fits rather large. I have an 2009 model and I do fit in a L nicely (220 lbs. 5.9") an I usually need XL from Patagonia and XXL from Icebreaker.

This shirt is warm and breathable for a variety of weather. The only problem I see is that if you wear a pack on top of this shirt, the fabric will rub and create a bunch of pills and makes the shirt look not so great.

Hey Gearheads!

For those of you who own this, how dressy would you rate it? Can it be 'business casual' for the office and out to dinner?

Thanks!

I wore the Sequence in Leaf to a 4-Star dinner the other night with jeans and leather boots. There is a logo on the chest, but its the same color as the shirt. I say go ahead!

I bought these in place of Patagucci's wool 2 because I was trying to save money and I could not be more pleased. It feels great and it performs even better. The fit is a little roomy, especially length-wise, but it still works well.
