The word on the street is the Outdoor Research Women\222s Rumor Fleece Jacket out-performs your average fleece in cold-weather aerobic pursuits. We checked it out, and the gossip\222s true. A stretchy outer face resists abrasion and deflects light wind and flurries, while a microfleece backing draws moisture from your skin and offers warm insulation. A balaclava-style hood wraps around your neck and the sides of your head for warmth on a cold day\227because hoods really shouldn\222t be just for looks. Thumb loops hold the sleeves just where you want \221em. Slip this jacket on for a day of snowshoeing or cross-country skiing, or slip it under a weatherproof shell for downhill skiing.
I wear this piece all the time. In the Pacific Northwest, it is perfect as a layer on rainy mountain bike rides, cooler days when I am running, or as a layer under my ski shell. Also, it is a cute around town piece!!!
Depends on just how slim you're talking & whether you're all torso, but I thought it fit pretty long & a slim-but-true-to-size. However, I'm only 5'6" & I wear a large...
This fleece is comfortable and keeps you warm in chilly weather and does not overheat you in warmer weather. My only dislike about this jacket is that it pills:( I noticed after I used it under my rain jacket.

I'm 5'6' and 170. Tried the Large. Sleeves fit good. Tight in torso. If you're thin in chest, waist and hips try large. Otherwise, go with XL. Front is cut small. Great fabric. Soft and comfortable. Nice design. Quality product.
This hoody is the PERFECT fall piece, and I am sure once we get into winter, it will be great for layering as well. It's worked for me on cooler fall hikes and boulder sessions and the hood has come in handy during our rainy fall in Durango. I like the thumb loops and that the sleeves are not designed to be super long because there are thumb loops. I am 5'11" and the large fits me perfectly (not too snug fitting, which I prefer) and the length of sleeves and torso are great).I've also washed this multiple times and it's holding up well. The darts on the front are flattering as well. Disclaimer: OR is a client of my company, Verde PR.
What is motion polyester fleece? Will this be too warm? Or will it be ok for temperatures in 35-40F. I'm not looking for a winter coat, but rather something that will do better in less wintery situations
Surprised by this piece... it's not your average fleece. It's more of a really light weight soft shell, with a micro fleece liner. Smooth on the outside, lightly fuzzy inside. Nice fitted hood, hidden pockets, longer-than-average sleeves with thumb loops.
Awesome light layer... running/biking when it's in the 40's... mid-layer it when it's in the 10's-20's... and throw it in the car for cool summer nights.
I'm impressed. OR is quickly becoming one of my top brand choices. Great quality.
Eh, it's comfy & I like the weight of it, but it pills like the dickens! Mine looks kinda crappy already & I've only washed it once... maybe I'm harder on my stuff than the rest of these folks who rave about theirs? I'd say it runs true to size & has a longer fit which many tall gals will appreciate (I'm not tall- 5'6"- & I wear a large, so while I'm not sure the longer cut is the most flattering, I think everyone else appreciates that I don't flash my middle section everytime I raise my arms). It's a good & stretchy light-weight fleece with a smooth face (well, until it pills any way) with a hood that can fit under a helmet. I have the lava/coffee & it's less burnt-orange than I had hoped, but the funky pinky-orangeness kinda grew on me.
