Heeding the call of the mountains requires leaving your house with adventure-worthy gear. Before you step out the door, make sure you pack along the Outdoor Research Women's Paladin Jacket. Built with lightweight but rugged Pertex Shield 3L waterproof breathable fabric, this jacket provides the protection you need to explore with confidence.

  • Trim fit designed to reduce bulk and provide an athletic feel
  • Pertex Shield 3L waterproof breathable fabric protects you from rugged alpine conditions
  • Fully taped seams mean rain or melting snow won't roll down the fabric and sneak in through the joints
  • Dual-pull adjustable hood accommodates a helmet while still allowing for visibility, and a laminated brim protects you from precipitation
  • Articulated elbows allow for an ergonomic fit, whether you're swinging an ice axe or heading into town after your descent
  • Oversized front hand pockets unzip to aid ventilation
  • Chin guard helps protect you from chafing

Bottom Line: Ready when you are.

It packs down pretty small--it is no ultra-light rain shell to pack down to the size of a 16oz pint glass, but I'd say it packs down to a little bigger than a 32oz nalgene. Which is pretty small considering how bomber the fabric is.

The GF is diggin' this jacket.
Pros: bright, light, waterproof. Con: No pitzips.
One internal pocket is nice for something small. She has long arms, and the sleeve length is great (she's 5'7", 135lbs, size M). She tried the OR Mentor first and the sleeves were too short.

If you measure from the middle of your back to the end of the cuff, you are looking at 31" for XS and 32" for S.

Please note the cuffs are slightly assymetrical with the outside edge (closest to your pinky finger) being slightly longer than the inside edge (closest to your thumb). This measures to the longer, outside edge...

just picked this up for my wife and since the hood is helmet compatible it is huge! Like in the other picture the front of hood covers her face. Did you get this adjusted for comfortable use without helmet?
