Unanswered Question

I want to use these for ski touring - specifically for skinning uphill. Are these a bad choice for touring because of the magnet? Will these magnets actually interfere with the operation of my beacon?

Great light duty convertible mittens

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

My wrists are always left cold with most gloves and mittens. These are great convertible mittens with long cuffs that easily fit in my pockets. However, I hardly take them off because of the convenient flaps. The magnets are a great idea- so loops to break or buttons to lose. The only small quibble I have is with the thumb...I wish the overlap was a little longer as sometimes my thumb starts to peek out if I'm stretching it. Other than that, absolutely love them

Great mitts for Photography

Keep your hands warm while still being able to operate your camera. They work great as liners under a shell mitt for skiing and snowboarding.

Do they seem pretty form fitting to your hand?

Responded on

Yeah they are form fitting, fits nice and snug. They slide right into a bigger mitt easily for added warmth.

for dog walks and driving in winter

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

So far these have been perfect for long dog walks and driving in winter - I was a little afraid they wouldn't be as warm as regular mittens, but so far the flap stays very close when it's over your fingers. I love being able to quickly flip the flap back to answer my phone or to take yet another picture of my dog happily romping through the snow somehow totally looking even cuter than he was, you know, in the picture I took of him just two minutes ago. The cuffs are long, so you do have to deal with a bit of bunching from an underlayer, but I don't mind.

Must Haves!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I've had these for a month and used them every single day. They are a great for around town or running errands and being outside because they keep your hands warm, but you can do anything (use keys, grip small items, open latches, etc...) because of the mitt and thumb flips, which then stay put because of magnets. Great for chilly mornings and evenings when you need to do things outside to get your day started. I will keep a pair of these gloves with me always!

Get these!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Yes, they are lightweight; no, they are not waterproof (add that with Nikwax, OK?); invaluable dexterity aids in fliptop mitten and thumb with simple magnets to hold 'em in place when you're actually using your hands for things ... like clearing
the #!@ chute on the snowblower.
