Great pants!

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit:Runs small

Im not really sure why everyone is complaining about these so much, as my goal when buying gear isn't how fashionable they are but the utility. I use these for ice climbing, snowshoeing, snowboarding, cross country skiing and sitting next to the fire in the snow. They have performed amazingly and the stretch is, just, fantastic... Its almost like not wearing pants. Almost. They are snug, warm as anything, and uber comfy. My one and only irritation was that I have big thighs SO BUY A SIZE BIGGER THAN USUAL! Its no joke. I love the stretch, i love how the areas of high friction are more durable, i love the faux fur, and how versitile they are. If you about fashion, you should probably pick a different hobby, come on.

Not fashionable, but warm

These pants are great for bitter cold ice climbing, where you need maximum warmth and aren't worried about breathability or waterproofness. The pants have a grid fleece/faux fur inner that makes an odd shape over the thighs, which isn't the most fashionable of styles, but it does pack some serious warmth/comfort. The removable suspenders are super burly, though a bit stiff. I liked the multiple pockets, but the placement of one behind the thigh is a bit funky. The fit is a bit small, I'm 5'9" 140 lbs and generally wear size small, but the medium fits me.

The medium should still fit you well since the velcro waist strap is very adjustable. If you've got thicker legs or plan on wearing expedition weight long-underwear underneath than a large size may be better. For reference, I'm a 30 inch waist, generally wear small and I can wear either small or medium in these pants, but prefer the medium fit.
