Adventuring through lakes, streams, headwaters, swollen rivers, or rainforests without the Outdoor Research Hydroseal Dry Sack is beyond uncivilized. It's just not smart. The Hydroseal-200 coated Antron nylon is waterproof, durable, and seam taped rendering it totally impermeable to water. You need reliable bombproof gear when you're paddling big water; the roll-top waterproof closure features a durable, dependable buckle that won't let you down. All Hydroseal Dry Sacks come with a webbing bottom handle and an external daisy chain so you can easily tie-up, tie-down, tie-to, chain-together, throw-around, and manhandle these dry bags any way you see fit.

Bottom Line: There's a time and place for those run-of-the-mill stuff sacks, and then there are times when anything less than the Outdoor Research Hydroseal Dry Sack is just plain lunacy.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

Awesome Dry Sack

By:
July 9, 2008

The fabric is definitely cooler than other dry sacks that are available... it's very durable and it's not some obnoxious yellow or green color that screams "dry sack." Great price. Love the strap on the bottom of the sac for holding it along with the daisy chain tie on the side. Don't know why I didn't buy them sooner. Also, although this might be obvious to others, I was happy to find out that it is water proof from the inside out as well as keeping water out. You can fill this sac with some ice and beers and keep them cold without the ice melting all over the car ;-).

Keepin it Dry

Finally got to put this sack to the test on annual three day canoe trip first day sky's opened up with no where to hide. When the rain cleared dove into the op which had been floating in the bottom of the canoe stuffed to the max for the past 4 hours. Relieved to find everything was bone dry. Great sac, much tougher than it appears.

They're sacks. They keep your stuff dry. They have loops on the side so you can secure them. What's not to love here? The Outdoor Research Hydroseal Dry Sacks do what you buy them to do and they look good doing it. Ever been on vacation and decide to take a cheesy kayak tour out in the bay and they hand you the very ugly, very plastic-looking dry sack that is such a monster you risk getting your stuff wet rather than using it? This sack is the opposite of that.

I had one of these Hydroseal bags in my pack as my stuff sack for my clothes and my sleeping bag will canoing down the James river in Virginia. one of my campers on the trip i was leading knocked my pack into the river and it floated in the water for about 20 minutes before I found my pack there. When I looked inside the Hydroseal bag everything was still bone dry. I find that the Hydroseal bag is well worth the money and one of the best investments you can make.

Love these guys!

These are the best dry sacks I have ever used. I've taken them to the Boundary Waters in MN and to a little island in Lake Champlain. Canoeing, kayaking, hiking, great! They are light, durable, and, most important, watertight. They're also really easy to clean.

Great sack

I used two of these strapped to a Miata on a 7,000 mile road trip. The webbing on the side was very useful for strapping the bags down. Everything was kept dry through heavy rain and snow. The bags were much more cylindrical than shown in the picture.

good, tough sac

By:

I have two of these sacs and have used them on multiday rafting trips. Keep stuff absolutely dry. Had doubts about the durability of the outer layer of the bags, but they are definitely more durable than they appear - plenty of tossing and throwing onto rocks unloading the boat and no signs of wear on the bags. The daisy chain is a smart, useful add-on.

Great Sack!

I took this sack on a trip in Zion's National Park through some slot canyons. We had to swim through several pools of water and I stuffed all my gear that I wanted dry inside. The dry sack performed great and kept everything perfectly dry. It is big enough that I could even fit my entire pack inside of it. I have no complaints about this bag.

Great drysack

By:
December 19, 2006

Opening the package, I was a little disappointed at first. The material seemed weak and not very water proof. However, after my first kayaking trip with it, I was very impressed. The OR bag is lighter than the traditional rubber like material and is just as waterproof. Daisy chain on the outside is a great add on as well. Great drysack at a great price
