Im 5'9 & 150 lbs, should I get a small or a medium?

Responded on

Go with the medium, this jacket fits trim as more of a mid layer. Perfect for fitting a hard shell over top.

Great, so far.

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've had the jacket for about a month. I walk the dog nightly in upper 20's temps with just a t shirt underneath. Not once has my upper body been cold, even on the windy nights. The hood is a little small, but overall great jacket. I am 5'11" 180 lbs and the medium fits perfect, as well.

Perfect for What It Offers

This jacket offers excellent mid-weight insulation and Gore Winstopper to keep the chill out. It fits a bit large which makes it accommodate additional layers well. Another great product from OR

Perfect level of warmth...great jacket

Awesome jacket! This is pretty much my go to jacket whenever its really really cold. Great for shredding in the backcountry, winter camping, and even just hanging out. Feels super durable, should hold up forever (like all OR products). I think the fit is perfect, I'm 5'9" and 180 and a medium is perfect for me.

Does this store in one of the jacket's pockets?

Responded on

Yes. You can stuff this jacket into one of the handwarmer pockets.

Odd Fit

Fit is really odd. Hood doesn't come forward enough to give any protection. Body fits big and boxy.
Cut is like a large thickly insulated parka, not the lightly insulated jacket it is. Needs more insulation.
Overall fit and feel is like a cheap lightly insulated windbreaker, not the pricey high end jacket it is.

Top notch, super durable

Gore wind stopper is a great shell surface for keeping the weather out and bumping up the warmth. It also takes a beating. It is a trim fit, and sleeves are a touch short for long armed individuals. One of those pieces that is always in my pack. Skiing, alpine climbing, rock, you name it, it works!

Great jacket

Overall, an extremely light, comfortable and warm jacket. Fits true to size, but the hood is a tad small, especially with a helmet. The hood is also hard to adjust and flies off in the slightest breeze unless the jacket is fully zipped up.

Super durable puffy!

Quality jacket, exterior material is very durable and water repelling.

Most durable puffy I have ever laid hands on, by far.

I would like to see two large mesh pockets on the inside of the jacket/beneath the hand pockets, to keep gloves/skins/etc warm.
