It's a different world at 14,000 feet, which is why Outdoor Research created the Men's Havoc Insulated Jacket. A versatile layer for cold-weather belays or ski descents in unpredictable conditions, the Havoc handles cold, wet, windy, and frequently changing conditions. PrimaLoft Silver Eco 60g insulation holds in your body heat, and WindStopper 2L face fabric does just what the name suggests, which is no small feat high in the mountains when the winds can feel like they're going to blow you off your feet.

A favorite of Outdoor Research's team of athlete ambassadors, the Havoc features mountain-specific details like the double-separating center front zipper with an internal storm flap to provide further protection against the elements. The fully adjustable hood, drawcord hem, and cuff stretch bindings also help seal out the weather, and the left hand pocket doubles as a stuff sack when you pack this insulated number into your backpack.

Absolutely love it!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Height: 5' 4"
    Weight: 125 lbs
    Size Purchased: small

I practically lived in this thing for 3 weeks straight during a climbing trip in the Sierras this summer. We had mostly foul weather filled with sleet, snow, and ice (so much for summer). This jacket kept me nice and warm, and dried out quickly if it ever got wet. Held up to abrasion well with no tears visible after putting it through hell. I am 5 ft 4 in 125 lbs and the small fit me well (sleeves were a tad long).

I've had a OR neoplume jacket for several seasons now, and love it. This is almost like a hooded version of the neoplume - it has the same feel to it, but is enhanced by the windstopper membrane. I love pretty much everything about this jacket - fleece lined handwarmer pockets, zipper garages, double front zipper, hood is usable without a helmet, etc. Only minor gripe is with the cuffs. They are just elastic bound, which is easy on -easy off. But with the enhanced weather protection this jacket offers not having a way to cinch down the cuffs doesn't make a lot of sense. really minor issue though. Comfortable jacket that covers a wide range of temperatures and conditions.
