Great rain hat for cold wet days

Great rain hat for cold wet days

The wide brim on this hat will keep rain off your face and keep your focus on the river.

OK

I felt this hat was too hot. It's basically a solid nylon cap for your head with a tiny vent to breathe.
It says that that fabric is breathable however I would like a little more breathing going on. My feeling is, either provide a waterproof hat (in which case I would just put on my gore-tex jacket hood) or a sun hat. I'm just not convinced you can do both well.

Thanks for the review..this is exactly what I was wondering. I have a seattle sombrero for rain but it's just too darn hot to wear in the sun. Was hoping this might be a dry alternative. Not sure why OR has 4 different rain hats in this size brim, but only 1 sun hat. Want something with more coverage than the Helios but also with a fold-up brim. The search continues, I suppose. Thanks for saving me 40 bucks.
