Apres favorite

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

As good as these are for climbing, I also love them for mtb'ing, spring skiing, etc.
The shoulder/chest cut allows movement, while the snug lower torso doesn't flap in the breeze. And, the fabric dried really quickly.
My most frequent use is as the shirt I throw on when I get back to the trailhead. Unlike cotton/etc it doesn't feel gross to put on while I'm still sweaty and gross, and it won't soak up my stink. I wore one of these every afternoon for a week while car-camping and mtb'ing in Pisgah NC. It stayed stink free.
The Termini shirt is really similar.

I'm 6'1" 170lbs and I wear a medium.

My new favorite shirt

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought this shirt for the same reasons Chris did - I wanted something lightweight and which would cover the back of my neck on climbs. As he says, the fabric is great - very cool and light, and sturdy too. Fit and finish are top notch. I like the shirt so much I bought another in blue. And so comfortable, I train in it as well when I climb at home.

Technical? Casual? Who cares! :)

A few years ago I started experimenting with - and preferring - button down shirts to short-sleeve t-shirt base layers for any time I'd actually be stripped down to that shirt. I like the looser fit, a collar I can flip up to protect my next from the sun, and the option to open a button or two for more ventilation on hot days. I have a couple of other examples of this from Outdoor Research, but this time I think they're really nailed it with the fabric. It breathes great but still looks casual, and its become my preferred shirt for spring ski tours, summer climbs, and long trail runs. I just spent a month skiing and trail running in the Alps, and this was one of three button-down shirts I had for the trip.

How is the sizing? I'm always between a large and and XL.

My do it all shirt

I just got this shirt last month and it has proven to be my everything shirt - from hikes to climbs to a day in the office. The fabric is a nice, breathable weight and the previous issues I found with pilling on OR's button up shirts seem to be resolved here. I got it in Cairn colour and it works well with jeans, cords and shorts. A good all-rounder for most occasions make it a good choice for guys who hate to shop!
