    Steer clear of Snow

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

I bought these gloves mainly to wear for backpacking and casual use to provide wind protection and a little bit of water resistance. While they definitely work well as wind stoppers, be sure to avoid wearing them in rain or snow unless you have a waterproof mitt or glove to wear over the top. Despite the description, these offer minimal water resistance. I found the gloves to be comfortable and warm enough to wear in the fall and mild winter weather. However I will definitely be using something a lot warmer once the snow hits

great gloves to have. i use them for biking, scootering, skiing, alpine climbing, and any other outdoor adventure. they keep my hands warm so i can use them in any weather (well, not rain probably, but light drizzle is fine). useful and they look like they will last for a while.

    Very warm!

I was having a hard time finding a glove that would keep my hands warm while out walking my dog. At night I carry a maglight which gets very cold to hold. These gloves did the trick! Very, very warm. Well fitted too. My only issue was the first time I got them wet (making snowballs) my hands turned black. Perhaps washing them first would stop this from happening? Despite that, I love these gloves.

Outdoor Research® Glove Product Manager Meghan Martens talks about the Gripper Gloves™. These multi-purpose outdoor work gloves have a secure, comfortable fit, the weather-resistant fleece stops wind and provides warmth, and the synthetic palms and curved design give them the ability to handle difficult tasks in cold conditions.

    Highly recommend

Great gloves, my hands are not restricted in them. They're comfortable, functional, and look good too, what more could you want from a glove?! Great for 20*, great for 40*. Super versatile! I don't know if there is anything better in this price range.

      Another Two Thumbs Up

As a backcountry skier, Nordic skier, and ski mountaineer, I've used a lot of thin 'work' gloves over the years that will keep the hands warm enough but not too warm on the uphill portion of a day. These are among the best I've found. They're fairly windproof and are cut just large enough not to constrict fingers -- a small but important detail in making thin gloves warm. These breathe well and dry fast when they get wet (common in snow sports). And both pairs I've owned have lasted extremely well. Most gloves used for skiing blow-out in the fingers, palm, and/or the crotch between the thumb and index finger. These have lasted two to three times longer than many other thin gloves I've use. Finally the grip is good when you're working with metal tools (ski poles or ice axes). Some gloves grip better, but these get a B or B+ for grip. For the downhill portion of a ski tour, I usually slip a mitten shell over this glove and I'm good to go.

        Great functional all rounders

Like all OR gloves. these ones fit my hands really well...which is key for a glove that is designed for "doing" things in! Not only are these great for hiking and approaching in, but they keep your hands warm while you are tying your shoe laces, racking your harness, or fumbling through your pack. I'm going to get a lot of use out of these!

Does snow stick to these gloves?
