Great lightweight hat for backpacking

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I purchased mainly for backpacking. It folds up so you can stash it in a pocket or pack. Softshell material is breathable, lightweight and weather resistant. I used to take a mesh trucker hat with me. I like this hat and material better. It's softer and easier to be squashed and stashed.

Does it adjust in the back in order to wear my hair in a ponytail to hang out of it?

No it doesn't. There is not cincher or snap-closure area that leaves a gape for pony-tails to stick out of.

better than i thought...

the fabric is really nice and thin..the construction of the zipper pocket isnt too bulky. its sits flushed...
i didnt know that the hat folds in half. you can see the construction of the visor wear it splits in half..i find this useful when i want to stuff it in my bag or my back pockets. awesome stuff OR
