After the long skin up the mountain, pull on the Outdoor Research Women’s Ergo Down Jacket and wait for your out-of-shape friends to make it to the ridge. This warm puffy features 650-fill goose down to keep you insulated from the cold mountain air. The lightweight ripstop shell features quilted stitching for feminine style when you wear it out for a drink that night, and two zippered hand-warmer pockets comfort your frosty fingers. Outdoor Research also included a stuff sack for easy packing when it’s time to make some fresh tracks.

Bottom Line: Stylish, packable warmth for cold mountain days and nights.

Can a down jacket be sexy? This one is!!

By:

I LOVE this jacket! I bought it as an extra layer under my ski shell because I get very cold on the slopes, but it has proved to be far, far more. The folks are OR are GENIUS with the cut of this jacket. It is actually slimming---who knew a down jacket could be like that?!?!
Beyond looking awesome on, it is super light-weight and super warm. I also have the Mountain Hardwear Subzero jacket the the Marmot Venus (which are both respectively awesome) but this one has seriously become my fave. Thanks OR and thanks Backcountry!

Fits well, no balloon man effect, extremely light in weight yet very warm. I am a bit concerned about the number of feathers that manage to wriggle their way out... will there be enough left to keep me warm next year?

great for vermont winters

I bought this jacket because I wanted something warm but simple. The fit is great, I have wider hips and they usually make sizing an issue but this is quite roomy. I can wear a hoody under it without a problem. It seems to stand up to rain and snow very well and its super warm!

No, you need to wash down garments by hand with woolite or a special down wash or take it to a speciality dry cleaner.
You can dry it in the machine but it takes a surprisingly long time.

You've gotta have it

Love, Love, Love this jacket! It's warm, but not bulky. Tried a couple other down jackets (North Face, Mountain Hardware) and I felt like the Michelin man. Not with this though. It also has nice tapering on the sides for ladies so you don't look like you're wearing a big square box. One other notable comment is the long arm length. I'm just over 5'10", and arms are usually too short, but not on the Ergo. Also stuffs well into the stuff sack for packing it as a "just in case" item when you're travelling.

Great lines in this jacket!

This jacket looks SO good on because of the stitch lines. It's really warm and also works well under a shell. Nice detail!

Love it. I had the Aria hoody in a medium and it was to small so I gave it away to a very lucky person!!!! I wanted to replace the Aria with the large but could not find a large any wear late last spring so got the Ergo and It is very flattering, warm and packable. I get lots of comments on it which always surprises me because the jacket is black.
