This set of three Outdoor Research Dry Ditty Sacks provides dry-storage options in 1, 2.5, and 3-liter bags. The waterproof fabric helps keep your extra layers and snacks dry. Simply fill the sack with your gear for a day of kayak touring, roll the top down three times, and buckle it closed.

  • Not intended to be submerged
  • Outdoor Research suggests double-bagging electronic equipment as some moisture can enter the bag

Bottom Line: Three dry ditties.

decent solution

I guess I should have read some of the other comments better. These are made out of parachute fabric with a lining and so they are not as sturdy as I was hoping. I managed to destroy one when my deet leaked and melted the interior lining. They offered a better piece of mind than nothing at all, and helped with keeping small things together for quick access, but I am going with more heavy-duty solutions in the future.

OR makes great products

Took these as part of my dry bag solution for a multi day trip down Escalante. These bags held there own against some tough circumstances. At one point I submerged by kayak with these bags in the backpack tied down to the front desk. After a good 10 minute trashing in the current they did contain some mositure but actually faired better than some of my other 'dry sacks'. Whether in a boat or on my back - these will be going with me on all future trips!

Great splash protection

These bags were used last weekend for a quick Narrows trip. They are clearly marked as not adequate for electronics. I wanted to see how they fared, and threw my digital camera in a ziploc inside. I also carried some other eesentials inside the other two bags inside my top-load backpack. After five or six full body "can't touch the ground" pools, no water leaked into any of them despite my pack being soaked inside. That being said, would i trust my $300 camera without the ziploc, no way! Great for keeping non electronics dry in all but the most sever situations.

Three of a kind

Took this set of ditty sacks down Westwater Canyon for the first 70 degree weekend in March. They're good organizers for your dry bag but don't submerge them. They'll protect your electronics from splashing, but if we would have rolled in Sock-it-to-me or taken Skull head on I probably would have damaged or destroyed my digital camera. Use these on mellow class III or less. Put your digital camera in one and loop it through one of your PDF straps to keep it close for quick access.
