Why We Like The Cirque Softshell Pant
The Outdoor Research Cirque Softshell Pants are our go-to pants for all things alpine. Their tough, stretchy, and water-resistant fabric was made for our most rugged missions, whether they're in the shoulder season or the dead of winter. Abrasion-resistant performance and a movement-mirroring stretch keep them prepared for mountainous terrain, while articulated knees and a gusseted crotch increase your natural comfort and range of motion. You'll also be ready for backcountry ski tours thanks to the dedicated avalanche beacon pocket and durable scuff guards that resist damage from ski edges, boot rub, and poles.

I would this pair of pants again any day.
One of the most comfortable pair of snow pants to wear.

Decent pant. No wallet pocket
Pant overall is good except for the there is no butt pocket for a wallet so therefore you must put your wallet in another pocket, disrupting standard pocket/gear arrangement. If you are someone who never carries money/ID with you to, during, and from your adventures this may be a good pant for you. For everyone else in the world you will be annoyed every time you where this pant. FYI I spend 80ish days a year in this pant and get annoyed almost every day. Previous version of this pant was perfect.

Great for Winter Hiking!
Wore the Cirque II and a merino base layer to hike some 46ers in the Adirondacks in 0 degree weather (-10 with wind chill) and they performed perfectly! 10 Miles and 5,000' of elevation gain. Stayed dry and warm the entire day. Also stood up to butt sliding on the snow back down the mountain! Medium, regular length: 5'10" / 160 lbs - perfect fit for me, could be a touch long for others.

Great fit
I haven't used these on an activity yet, but the fit is good except for the end, they flare out just a bit too much for those of us who are not wearing ski boots. I still like them enough to keep, and if the flare is an issue, gaiters will solve that.

Large in length, thigh but small waist

Great product for keeping me warm with just these and a base layer even below freezing while doing snow removal. Only problem I have is this product runs small in the waist band but very large in the size of the thighs and in the length of the pants. the length is not as bad as the thighs since wearing boots and using the lace clip can kind of mitigate it. When layering up the waist of the pants can feel tight but after some time the feeling will go away.

Warmer and stretchier than my previous OR soft-shell pants.
Warm enough, but not too hot, on a XC ski trip on the Long Trail and up Mt Washington, NH yesterday. We have a winner. Flexible and versatile, big crampon protector. Could use one more lower pocket.

would definitely recommend
Used these pants on a niseko ski trip and around Hokkaido. Construction quality is great, and these were warm enough to wear with only a base layer in the snow.

Not that waterproof
Fit was actually pretty good for me. Liked the color too. However, it unfortunately wasn't that water proof for me on the very first time out, some snow tubing left the seat area completely soaked to the skin. Weather was slushy snow/rain so maybe these weren't designed for complete water proofness but I definitely didn't expect it to soak through to the skin after a couple times down the hill. I can see it being a decent soft shell pant for snow shoeing/light snow use.

Decent Product - Wouldn't Buy Direct from OR again
The quality of the pants are good, but I didn't like the fit or the look. They might work better for someone else though. My main issue was with the delivery and customer service from OR after.

These are sized extremely weird
My waist in all brands of pants is 33". Once in a while 34". The size chart claims that a Medium is 31.5"-34.5". I bought them and they are skin tight. Barely could fasten the button. Yet they were 2-3" longer than my inseam. These are made for men with a tiny waist and extremely long legs. If I bumped up to a large, i would need to have my waist, but stand at a solid 6'5". And yay. I had to pay money to give them back the pants they mis sized. So that was cool.
