Description

Packable, breathable, and desertable.

Dunk the Outdoor Research Arridas Hat in water to stay cool and out of the sun as you trek across open desert. The cotton canvas fabric absorbs water at the last stream before a long stretch of dry trail and then cools your head through evaporative cooling. Mesh ventilation relieves your hot head and an interior headband wicks sweat, as the bill and sun skirt keep the rays away with UPF 50-rated fabrics. The sun skirt detaches and snaps on for use as a bandana or face mask when the winds whip up sand that literally cuts your skin. But before you get out in the wind, cut some string and tie down the Arridas with the built-in chin strap loops.

Does its job

Nice, comfortable hat, def keep you cool when wet. Picture shown on SAC was green but the description was "barley". When it arrived, it was in fact barley (tan). Other little downside is that the cinch cord on the back doesn't hold, so don't order big. With that said, I do like the hat a lot, seems very durable. Stars would be higher if not for the adjustment and miscommunications.

awesome

I use this hat at my sumer job at a beach club on long island on the hottest days and it is awesome. It keeps my neck and and head cool and I dont have to reapply sunblock. Highly recommend it for anyone in heat
