    Great coat

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small

(From my wife) I love the fit of this coat. I've tried on many like it and often they look frumpy, have no waist, or something else is off. This one is great and I wear it daily. It is mid-weight which is great for living in the snow. The hood fits great also. I got the grey which is a nice break from my mostly black wardrobe.

    not warm enough

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XL

This coat looks and fits great, but I live in Chicago and this coat it is definitely not warm enough for weather below freezing.
The cold air goes right up the sleeves - there are no inside cuffs.

Hi Diane, The jacket was not designed for sub zero, so I am sorry you are not happy with it. Please know that the jacket is a great piece, but doesnt sound like it was the right choice for you in your environment. There is another coat coming out next fall that really will do the trick: cuffs, thicker, not so many stitch lines for cold to get through - It's called teh Fernie Parka, and will be available next Fall.

Again, I am sorry this wasnt the right piece for you!

    Great for Travel

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

The Aria Storm Parka is a great coat for so many situations--around mountain towns, apres ski, or in your favorite winter city--I take it everywhere with me. It is warm and the Pertex shield makes it a great option for wetter weather. Plus, it packs down really small, so you can take it anywhere. If you're trying to keep baggage weight down, but need to pack a winter coat, the Aria Parka is perfect.

    Great coat

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Perfect length - keeps your butt & thighs warm. Great cut - all the warmth of quilted down without the bulk and the scallop shape of the quilting adds to the feminine look. I got it in the blue/green color which is more green than blue. The fabric is nice -it's tougher than the usual nylon outer shell used for down coats - I wore it snowshoeing through woodsy underbrush and got no snags or holes in it which is pretty amazing. I got it for walking to work when it's not cold enough to wear my long Patagonia down coat and I couldn't be more pleased with its fit, warmth and sturdy construction. I live in northern Minnesota and have owned hundreds of coats and jackets. I also like the hood; initially, I thought I'd leave it off but I haven't removed it yet and probably won't as it makes for a nice cozy neckline without being a bulky, floppy hood that annoys you. This one is one of my all time favorites. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is the lining fabric does not hold all the down in. Every time I wear it my shirt or sweater has little white pin feathers all over it. Definitely don't wear black under it!

    Warm and toasty

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

At first, I didn't think that a style like this was "me." Boy, was I wrong. LOVE the warmth, style, 2 way zip to make getting in and out of the car easier, removable hood... Outdoor Research thought about it all. AND the fabric is waterproof!
