Description

Get down with the fluffy vest.

You’ll be singing from the mountaintops when you’re bundled up in the cozy Outdoor Research Women’s Aria Down Vest. This fluffy vest features an ultralight 15D ripstop shell and 650-fill goose down that help the vest pack up small when you stuff it in your pack, and an adjustable insulated hood for hunkering down in nasty whiteouts. Two zippered hand-warmer pockets heat up chilly digits, and the quilted stitching makes the Aria as fit for a night at the lodge bar as it is for the mountains.

I thought at first the hood would be an issue as far as bulk, but once my shell was on top, I didn't feel it. The vest fit well, not boxy, not tight. Room to move and still cute!

Love this vest, it's soft, warm, compresses very small into it's own stuff sack, roomy hood, flattering cut. I only had to return mine because it ran almost a full size too big. I tried to make it work by wearing a thick winter hoody underneath, but even then size M felt too roomy. I'll be definitely replacing it with a smaller size (esp. if there's more color selection, I used to have light blue one and loved it. The new colors are a bit too trendy, and aside from black, they don't go with too many items in my wardrobe).

I bought this for my wife and she has not taken it off since she first put it on. The vest looks great and she can't imagine going back to one with no hood. I highly recommend.

The vest was large and boxy. I sent it back.
I have a Backcountry down sweater and an Eddie Bauer down sweater and vest and bought a Patagonia for my daughter, all of which are of far better quality in fill and fit.
I wouldn't recommend this one.

Why, Oh Why did you add the hood. And the contrast lining. This vest could have been a classic! Even the zipper works better than any I have used. Also the design of the pockets and the handy sac are perfect. The weight is also perfect. PLEASE RETHINK THE HOOD AND THE LINING. When I described the vest to a friend she said why isn't the hood at least removable. Help fix this wonderful vest for next year.

I am sure BC will pass this input along to OR.

Hey there! I am one of the reps for OR, so consider your comments HEARD! I like having a non-hooded option, BUT the contrast lining is actually one of the things that sells the jacket for so many people. Really.

I will pass on the option for a non-hood. I think it is a good one! Thank you!

Use a Nikwax or Grangers Down Wash in a tumble washer. Dry in a tumble dryer and stop it every ten minutes or so and break up any down clumps by hand.

This vest is absolutely great. It comes with a small stuff stack so you can toss it in your bag and not have to worry about it. It has a great amount down fill that is super warm. It also has a really roomy hood that had down fill also. It has several inside pockets, including a media pocket (there's one zipper pocket). 4 stars only because it would be great if it had sleeves:) I've worn it on very chilly days and slightly cool days and all times were good. So, go for it! worth it!

Really, you only gave them 4 stars because there are no sleeves?
