My Osprey Waypoint 85 L review
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
This one is for the world travellers looking for the perfect pack to bring with them.
We were waiting for our bus to San Francisco and decided to do an impromptu review on our packs:
Osprey Waypoint 85 Liter Men and Women versions.
The only thing I forgot to talk about was the comfortable handles on the side and top.
Mike's rating: 4.5 / 5
Enjoy the video to hear what we have to say about our packs for our walk the Earth trip.

Out of the 85L how much of that is the actual pack and how much is the removable daypack?
Actually, the daypack doesn't count toward the 85L. The way pack volume is calculated doesn't include the lid or any side pockets, including that one.

My daughter is 5'4'' with a medium build... which size do you recommend for her travel through spain/ Morroco? why aren't they all water resistant?
To size your daughter, you need to measure her torso:
Scroll down below the instructions to find sizing info for the Waypoint.

Does this pack have a hip belt? And what are the access points IE does it pack like a duffel bag or like traditional backpack??
It does have a hip belt and it has a burrito style opening closer to a traditional backpack than a duffel (zipper goes all the way around).
Yes, the Waypoint has a great hipbelt and a really nice suspension, modeled after Osprey's best selling Aether backpack. It is a panel loading, which makes it easy to get into your bag and organize / retrieve your stuff!

Will this be too heavy for me to carry? I am 5'6'' and weigh about 130.
hard to say, but i'd guess it would depend on what you put into it. usually though, osprey is very comfortable no matter what weight is inside. i'd say you'd be fine if you're fairly active and used to carrying a good amount of weight. this is definitely a ton of space.
It is very good design. I am happy with this bag.
