Get there.

You've got a whole world to see and only one lifetime to see it in. The Osprey Waypoint 60 Travel Pack, with its thoughtful features and logical design, won't slow you down. Designed to make your minimalist world tour more manageable, the Waypoint first and foremost sits comfortably on your back when you're tromping around the planet with padded, molded shoulders and a Spacer mesh backpanel. When it feels like the world is on your shoulders, or if the airlines make you check the big bag, you can detach the smaller daypack from the back of the Waypoint and check the big cargo section. The Straps on the large section tuck away to protect them from bag handler abuse. A front pocket (part of the daypack) is perfect for passports, tickets, or whatever, and a magazine slash pocket gives you fast access to the obligatory trashy airport or bus station reading. The trip is defined by the journey, not necessarily the destination. Where you are now is just another Waypoint.

can it be used for hiking? is it good enough to carry and will it hold in a norwegian winter for a beginner?

Responded on

This pack is suitable for overnights and possibly weekends, if you're traveling light. However, this is a 2007 model and is no longer in stock.

I'm really wanting a travel pack for a 6month trip to Mexico, but I'm very petite and I'm having a hard time finding something that will balance capacity with size -- this has everything I want technically but I'm afraid the small is still going to be too big once I'm trying to haul it around. Input? Alternatives?

how tall are you? better yet, how long is your torso? if you get on osprey's website, you can check out the exact torso lengths for each size.

Would it be possible to use this pack as a carry-on?

Responded on

Most airlines allow carry-on baggage no larger than 22 x 14 x 9 inches, with the linear measurement (length + width + height) not to exceed 45 inches.
# Small: 26 x 14 x 10 in (50in)
# Medium: 27 x 14 x 11 in (52in)

So, you would be pushing your luck with this pack. And yes, these are the dimensions without the day pack. I think it is designed to check the pack and have the day pack as a carry-on.

What are gear loops?

What are gear loops?

Gear loops are places where you can attach things like carabiners (attach shoes, water bottles, etc...) and sleeping pads. Very handy when you run out of room on the inside of the pack.

I want a backpack that will hold everything for My trip to Europe. I plan to travel light and use just one carry one. Any suggestions on a travel pack by Osprey for a woman. My Friends could not remember the "model" they purchased by Osprey.

the waypoint series is definately the way to go. they unzip fully so you wont have to dig to the bottom like you would a top-loader, and the removable pack, though a bit on the small side, works great for a carry on. the suspension also zips up so there arent any straps to get tangled in the airport conveyors. the only thing you have to decide is whether you want the 60 or the 80. i recommend doing a "mock-pack", that is, get all your stuff together and if at all possible, pack both packs. really, the only difference is how many pairs of shoes you might want to bring ;)

Will the Waypoint 60 Backpack for women be big enough to hold all My luggage for a trip to Europe? I want a carry on for the entire trip.

denpends on how long you intend to travel, what the climate will be like, and what you intend to take. I lived out of a 4000 cubic in pack for a month in Alaska, but it was a snug fit. I had to carry my sleeping bag, sleeping pad, tent, and cold weather gear. If you are traveling in a warmer climate, you should have no problem fitting it all in.

Perfect

This travel pack is exactly what i was looking for. They thought of everything. The 60 liter is the perfect size and i just keep finding smart little functions.
