Works Like a charm

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought this for a North Face Surge II Pack. Works well. Still a lot of room left over though. So you can add things to the daisy chain on the back of the pack. My pack is about 30L. There is shock cord with a lock so that it can be tight to the pack even though it's smaller.

I have a video review Grayhawk0748

Rain Rain, goes away

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I purchased my size large UL raincover as a supplement for my Osprey Ariel 65 (3967 cu in). It packs down super small and weighs practically nothing. This cover has been a really wonderful addition for rainy day backpacking and so much better than the garbage bag I was using before!

Great Fit

Fits my Aether 70 with just enough extra space for anything I may have on the outside of my pack. Packs down small when not in use and is quick and easy to put on your pack

Great Fit

Kept my pack dry

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This rain cover has kept my pack dry in a down pour. I have been caught in the rain quite a few times. It has always done the job. I keep it on my pack at night so the condensation does not build up on my pack. Good product.

Does want it was designed to do.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This raincover does what it was designed to do. I have an Aether 85 and the large fits fine. Luckily I have had good weather on my trips for the most part so I haven't had to use it too much but when I have it kept my pack dry.

Must-have Accessory

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought this for my Atmos 65 pack in the size M. It fits like a glove and packs down super small when not in use. It's one of those accessory items you don't want to be without on a trip where rain is a possibility. There is an overlap in sizing, so both the M and L would have fit my pack. I went with the M to save space when the cover isn't in use, and I'm glad I did. Even on a 65L pack, the cover leaves PLENTY of room to surround the pack and anything attached to the outside of it.

Two for One....

UL Raincover Light weight, packs small, Elastic DrawCord makes for a good fit around my Osprey Quantum 2075 cu.in 34L pack, alittle on the large side.. Will be using UL RainCover (not) only for the rain, but also as a dust cover for my Backpack while in the field.. Snaps can be pulled and attached together behind the backpack for a tighter/snugger fit.... Also fits my Osprey Porter 46 & 65 gear haulers....

    Tears easily....

As another reviewer stated, it tears easily. After an overnighter it developed a slight tear about the size of a silver dollar. Not sure how since I only used it to cover my pack at the camp site while it was sitting still. Gave it 3 stars because it still accomplished it's mission but I may try another for better durability.

      not impressed

I have the large and it fits my 85L osprey great, goes on easily, but it's shoddy. I've used it for about two weeks total and it already has about 55 tiny to medium-sized holes. Thus, it is now spotted with duck tape. I am going to just get a normal universal one as I've never had this probably before. So, really, I can only recommend this if you plan on never scratching against anything while it is on your pack and never put your pack down with it on it (as that will also create holes).

I'm looking for a cover for my Waypoint 65L (50+15L daypack). Should I get the medium or large? From what I can tell from the comments the medium is probably the best, but I'd rather check first.

Hello there, I am wondering what size would be best for my Ariel 65, size small (plus the daylite bag). I see in some comments that large is best, but it seems as though the medium would be fine.. Thoughts?

        Hey Kate,

The Ariel 65 in S is 3783 cu in and the daylite pack is 793 cu in. If you plan on having things in the Daylite pack while it is attatched I would recommend getting the Large. If you have it empty and strapped flat to your Ariel (with nothing else on the outside) you could get away with the Medium.

Personally, I would rather have my rain cover a little too big than too small, that way it will cover your pack and whatever you have strapped to the outside of it (sleeping pad, tent body, tripod, fly rod, etc.)

Hi, I just ordered the Osprey Atmos 50 (2800-3200 cu in). I'm wondering what size rain cover I should get. Based on the size of the bag I would assume a medium, but it seems like people are saying it's a bit big and I want it to fit tight. Should I get the medium or small?

        Thanks

I also have the Atmos 50. I wanted a rain cover that would fit my Atmos 50 much like the way the one included with my Stratos 34 fits that (molded neatly - not like a trash bag thrown over it). I ordered the Medium as recommended for 50 liter and my bag was absolutely swimming in the cover! I then tried the Small and it was a nice snug fit that stayed on the pack securely. I use my Atmos 50 as a winter day pack. I usually have my gear packed internally with the exception of 2 water bottles in the outer pockets and sometimes my ice axes. I fill it up pretty good but not to the absolute max capacity. If you are like me you'll probably like the small. If you plan to use this pack backpacking with it stuffed to the max plus external hanging gear and sleeping mat then you will need the Medium UL Cover. If you plan to put snowshoes in the exterior pocket and still use the cover you will also need Medium. (I almost feel they could use a size between Small and Medium as its a big jump!) Hope this helps?

I have an Osprey Waypoint 85 - assume I'll need the large cover? Sounds like medium just covers up to 70L and the Waypoint is a little over that with the day pack attached.

i have a daypack that is slightly larger than the other person who inquired about sizing. it's 20" long, 14" wide, and 8" deep. i'm wondering whether the XS would work on my pack or whether i should size up to a small.

i have an osprey meridian 22, which is a rolling convertible that can be a backpack as well. i think a medium will work as it's about 60L. however, i'm just curious if anyone has had experience with this item with a roller backpack...will it work just like it does with any other pack?

        thanks!

So you will really only be able to use the rain cover when its in backpack mode, if you try using the rain cover when you are rolling it around its going to snag on stuff and get caught up in the wheels. The pack itself is made to be pretty water resistant so you might not need the cover much but would be a good backup for when it does start to downpour.

What size will fit the Talon 22 m/l pack?

I have the talon 22 m/l (1343 cu in), and i would go with the size small (1200-2400). On occasion i use the talon 22 for a lightweight overnighter, and when i do i generally have a few things strapped to the outside. The small would be perfect for that situation.. or you can cinch it down for smaller loads. The XS has a max of 1200, so that would be too small

I have an Aether 70 and an Ariel 65. I understand that I need a L for the aether, but would i be better off getting a M for the Ariel? I've seen some reviews on other sites that seems to indicate that these things can get very large.
