If you like to feel the fresh mountain air flowing across your back during your day hikes, try on the Osprey Talon 6 Daypack, and leave your back free to the breeze. Buckle on the Talon 6 just above your hips, and quickly reach for one of the two included 20-ounce water bottles to stay hydrated during your excursion. Fit weird

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I so wanted to love this pack but it may be just how my body is shapped but it would not sit tight up against my back no matter where I put it. Best I can explain is that it's top heavy.
I was able to put a lot in it. I had two thin performance shirts, a rain jacket and two pairs of hiking socks in the main pocket. I then had two chew packets and two protein bars in the smaller front pocket. I had nothing in the belt pockets yet. It just would not lay flat against my back no matter what I did or where I put it. I loved the bottles. The shape makes it easy to slide into the pockets and am going to look for these to use in my big pack.
Sadly I had to return it though.

    Not Old School Osprey Quality

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I am an old school high quality 1980/90s Osprey backpack owner and user. This lumbar/waist pack while okay in design lacks in material quality. The waist belt straps and buckle are sub-par for Osprey. The very small width strap and buckle are to narrow and buckle is not curved to match you waist so it cuts and digs across your front. The foam waist belt material seemed very cheap. While lightweight this type of material will not hold up to long-term use in the sun or rugged use. Expected uses would be zoo or park excursion and light trail walking . I would not take this backcountry hiking. 2.5 stars.
