Much needed for those hot days in Bangkok. It breathes pretty well too with the mesh sides, he wasn't sweating too bad in it.

A must for traveling around Asia

Great pack for traveling and hiking!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

We originally got this pack for traveling to Thailand with our then 9 month old son. It was perfect with the pop up sunshade and storage for diapers/snacks and what not. We read that it wasn't very stroller friendly where we were going so we were very glad we got the pack for him instead.

Now that we're in Virginia we get to take him on a bunch of great hikes and as long as he's got snacks, he's happy in there. Must be pretty comfortable because he's fallen asleep in there a few times.

Great pack for serious hikers

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've found that the Poco Plus stands out above some of the lower-priced offerings from Osprey, mainly because of the ample storage space and built-in sun shade. Those two features alone make this pack worth your while if you're venturing out for more than just a stroll around the corner with your little one.

So far this summer I've had my 18-month-old son out a half dozen times in the Poco Plus. He weighs in at around 30 pounds, so not only is the Poco beefy enough to make his ride comfortable (and mine as comfortable as you can make it), but it has enough space to bring all the stuff you need when taking your boy miles into the backcountry. And the sun shade is a really great feature to keep him a bit more protected from whatever it is you run into (sun, bugs, low-hanging branches, etc).

Hard to find a better workout than carrying your kid on your back up and down mountains!

Little adventures!

This pack is outstanding and there is only one feature that needs tweaking. The zipper on the lower compartment is a little hard to pull in either direction. Besides this minor complaint this pack has allowed me to get "out" more with my son. The pack seems really comfortable and he usually takes naps everytime we go out. I have put about 30 miles of hiking through the mountains of southern AZ on it with no signs of wear and tear even around the stirrups. I have even used the sun shad as an impromptu changing pad when I forgot my son's pad.

Never Stop Adventuring!

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share

This carrier covers everything! From a hidden sun shade to stirrups for your little one's feet, the basis are covered! My favorite part is the ease of adjust-ability. My sister is tiny but she can wear this pack and hand it off to her husband. As always, Osprey quality and lifetime warranty!

Wonderful

Bottom line- comfortable for the kid (she falls asleep in it), comfortable for the mule for a long haul, and easy to adjust on the fly .

We've had it for several months now- it's our go-to baby carrier for when it's too hot to use the Ergo or baby wrap (we live in Thailand). It's been on long hikes, an elephant ride, and a trip in a dugout canoe.

While they sell a rain cover for this, I've been impressed that the sun shade alone kept the tot dry through a tropical downpour for about five minutes. Not sure how it would handle a longer duration (parts of the shade are mesh) but if you just need something while you sprint to shelter you can probably skip the rain cover.

Second fun fact- the shoulder load adjustment buckles are within the passenger's reach, which can lead to some holy $#!T moments when she loosens one. She'll learn not to, can't really ding the pack on that.

BEST Pack!!

We could not be happier with this! Love the hip belt that adjusts easily & the sun shade on the Plus version is worth the money! We?ve forgotten her hat & come across winds that have been alleviated with the shade.

We do a lot of berry picking too & the bending over has been fine with the pack. Our little 1 year old LOVES it too! She?s content, as we have kept her sitting up pretty high in it, with the adjustments & she loves being able to fully be part of our treks. We?ve even taken her to a wedding in this! Airport also was a blessing to have this! No dirty looks from people getting mad that the stroller is taking up so much room & is in the way. We can walk fast, keep our pace & haven?t missed using the stroller once! The storage is perfect, just the right amount for our gear as well as her light items.

Definitely worth the price & we have been super happy with it! Oh and it cleans up so well! Blackberries our little one smeared on the strap- came right off! I was shocked, as in typical attire it?s a job to get out.

after much research...

my husband and i have been searching for a baby carrier to take our little one hiking for months now. we have stopped people on trails, borrowed friends and family's carriers to test them out, yet could not find one that could fit both of our frames (my husband is broad shouldered, 6'3" and i am smaller up top and only 5'4"). not only does this carrier adjust to our height difference, but the hip belt can also fit both of us (which you need with a baby and full pack)! plus the frame around the baby and harness are so nice, not just something you snap in, but it really keeps the baby in place! we went with the plus instead of the premium only because the difference we saw was the extra day pack, we do not need that additional piece. the premium also comes with a diaper pad for changing, but we have plenty of those as well! by far the best purchase we have made thus far as new parents!! great work on the osprey!
