Will the laptop sleeve fit a 15 in. Mac...

Will the laptop sleeve fit a 15 in. Mac computer? Does it have a sleeve for a tablet? Also I've checked ospreys sizing chart but couldn't seem to find this model, I'm about 5'8" 155 and was curious if the s/m would work? Thanks

Best Answer Responded on

Good Afternoon!

The Laptop sleeve is big enough to accommodate your 15" Mac. Though there isn't a designated tablet sleeve, there is definitely enough room for a tablet in either the top pocket, accessories pocket (depending on the tablet size) and also in the main compartment.

Osprey sizing for a S/M is generally right around 16-20 " torso measurement.

How to measure your Torso:
Start at the iliac crest (the top of your hipbone that you can feel like a shelf on the side of your body). From this level on your spine, measure to the C7 vertebrae, the knobby bone at the base of your neck when you put your head down. Make sure to keep your back straight while having the measurement taken.

I hope that helps!

Does it have a way to lock the main compartment (such as zippers)? Im looking for a daypack for traveling around Europe and am almost sold... But am looking for something thieve-proof. Thanks!

The size chart does not list the Metron. Is there another style that is similar. I am thinking the S/M would be good for my wife who is 5 ft tall

Responded on

Sorry that information is not on the sizing chart. The truth is that the Metron is not a traditional frame-supported backpacking pack, so precise sizing is not so much of a concern. Based on your wife's height I would definitely recommend a S/M.

Son loves it!

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share

I purchased this for my college age son. He was stoked by all the features and was even more excited about using it for a day pack on outdoor adventures. He liked the brown color, which stands out from everyone else's black backpack. Very well constructed.

Love it

This is a great bag. I love the way the straps don't flap. Great for my bike commute. And I think it'll be my new carry-on computer bag when I fly.

Good Commuter bag

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I commute 20 miles to work and this pack can hold just about everything and anything you could think to stuff inside. In fact, that's also the only downside. I have a m/l size (I'm 6 ft, 165lbs) and the bag is enormous. The compression straps help keep it manageable, but the length of the bag often interferes with my helmet. I have to keep the pack fairly low on my torso so the external handle doesn't hook on the back of my helmet. The raincover is great, but the pouch needed to store it is a bit large and heavy for the benefit it provides. Overall, this is a fantastic bag with plenty of storage space.

Awesome Pack

Pros:

It is huge

Tons of pockets

They thought of everything

Cons:

Not sure what they were going for with the "U-lock Pocket" - it does not easily fit my lock, but whatever.

I wish I had ordered the brown, but the black is fine (just not that interesting)

i frequently have to carry design documents, which are 11x17 inches. will a 2 inch binder fit in the main compartment?

Responded on

Not a problem! I usually fit a 1" binder, a pair of shoes, toiletries, a weekend's worth of clothes and a 15.4" laptop.

A laptop and a 2" 11 x 17 binder may be a little cramped at the very bottom of the bag (it tapers a little bit) but I still think it will fit fine.
