This pack is the BOMB!!!!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Its is my favorite pack by far. It has tons of pockets and really easy access via a zipper that goes around the back of the back plate. It has 2 main pockets and two pockets on the top pack cover. It also has an insulated sleeve for a bladder system. Its a perfect pack for backcountry activities. You can carry both a set of skis or a board vertically on your back. The traps are also reinforced with rubber to protect the pack from the sharp edges of skis or boards.

This bag can take abuse!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I purchased this pack in the fall when I was looking for a pack to go travel around South America with. I wanted a pack that I could live out of for 4 months and then use for touring afterwards.
I could not be happier with this pack. I was able to fit everything I needed in here to explore and hike around Patagonia as well as throw onto busses and abuse. I have not tested the waterproofness of the pack in wet snow yet, but hiking for 3 days in the driving rain around Fitz Roy this pack kept everything dry inside.
I would purchase this bag over and over again.

This bag can take abuse!

This is my favorite feature. Taking your skins off and on and putting them in your pack is easy and fast!

The Hose for your bladder is insulated so that it doesn't freeze. Came in handy for my last tour. Also it is kept close to your body so that your body heat also keeps it from freezing and breaking the tube.

This pack is much larger than it seems!

  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

So if you are going on a weekend tour this is the pack to have! I've never had so much room to carry stuff before! I can fit really all I need for an overnighter and then some! The snow falls right off of it and it keeps all my essentials dry. Not to mention the weight distribution is awesome and easy to adjust with all the straps. Low swing if packed right and it feels really comfortable on my back, waist and shoulders when I'm hiking . I enjoy the versatility this pack has when it comes to ski carry it can do A-frame or flat on the pack or across. Also the helmet carry in the lid and the extra compartment below to carry gloves makes it for fast and easy access. I've included some detailed pics so that people can get more of an idea of how the pack looks and works. If you have any questions about this pack let me know via live help and ask for Jane H.

Is the top lid floating -
as in does it have extendable straps at the rear -
so as to allow for pack height extension?

Responded on

Hey Erik
The lid is not floating and is attached in the rear. However the straps on the front do allow some play if you have some over flow from the top. I hope this helps answer your question and let me know if you need anymore help.

Is it waterproof in not just melting snow but decent solid rain??

I found that it did not hold up so well in the rain, and bought a rain cover for mine just to make sure my stuff stayed dry.
