Description

Versatile, flexible, and ready to roll.

From extended day hikes to summit pushes, the simple, functional Osprey Kestrel 28 Backpack carries the days' gear without making your shoulders suffer. Thoughtful layout and an abundance of features distinguish the Kestrel 28 from bare-bones or overly specialized daypacks on the market.

  • AirScape back panel provides support, circulates air, and features a LiteWire frame instead of heavy, rigid aluminum stays
  • Durable nylon construction resists abrasion
  • Plenty of pockets give you easy access to small essentials
  • Zippered hip-belt pocket keeps your digital camera and energy gel packs close at hand
  • Ice axe loops and Stow-on-the-Go trekking pole attachment points let you attach extra gear externally
  • Reverse StraightJacket compression straps let you reduce pack volume if you're carrying a smaller load
  • Integrated rain cover helps you cover your gear in the event of a storm

Awesome pack!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have used this pack many times (at least 15), and have had it for just over a year now. I use it for everything from short day hikes to one or two night minimalist camping outings. The pack is built nice and sturdy, as well it feels great while in use. I have two other osprey packs the atmos and the aether all three of these packs have a great feel to them, the hip belt especially. I expect a great fit and feel every time I buy a pack from osprey and have never been disappointed. The only reason I gave this pack a four instead of a five is that the mesh pockets on the sides are almost too small to fit a 32oz nalgene in them. They fit so tight I am afraid that they might tear. All in all you can't go wrong with this pack, I have used every feature on it and have never needed any more.
