I'm using a Sawyer Squeeze filter and I purchased a quick connect adapter to add to my Osprey Hydraulic bladder that way I could leave it in my pack when refilling/filtering. Problem is, the quick connect ends are too small for the tubing. Now I don't know what to do.

Without looking at it, it's kind of hard to say "do exactly this", but what you have is one side that's a 1/4" inside diameter (Osprey) and the other side that's 3/8" (Sawyer). Sawyer does make their own version of the quick connect adapter, but it's still going to be too big for the Osprey. Probably your best bet is to go down to a small, local hardware store (not the big box stores) and bring the two components with you for comparison. Ace is usually the best place for this kind of stuff. Round up somebody knowledgeable in the plumbing dept and ask them to help you with finding a 1/4"-3/8" barbed nylon adapter (a "reducer"). You may need to cut a short piece of the tubing from one or the other system to use as a bridge, but it should work out, assuming they have the part you need. Good luck!

This photo might help. It's not necessarily exactly the part you'll find, but it is exactly what you're trying to accomplish and how it's going to happen.

Thank you so much. I did exactly what you said and located everything I need to convert to the 1/4" for about 6 bucks. Win!

In the pic above it looks like this product comes with a strap magnet but the one I got had only the the bite valve magnet.
Is the strap magnet included?
If the strap magnet isn't included the picture is misleading.

It is supposed to be included. There was a mixup at the Osprey factory and they did not secure the magnetic clips (and a bunch fell off in shipping). If you contact our CS department with a phone call or chat in we can get you the piece or a replacement sent out.

Is this the older larger bore tubing, or the new 1/4" tubing?

This is 1/4" tubing.

I just received the product from an order a few days ago, and it was the older, larger tubing. NOT the new 1/4" tubing.

The nalgene/osprey packs bite valve and hose are awesome! Far superior to all of the camelbak products that I have used. I did break the small plastic piece that is in the middle of the bite end, but it was because it froze and I got a bit aggressive with it.

The replacement comes with the magnet attachment which I was very happy to have an extra of. The only problem is that you cannot buy these parts separately.

How do you get to the hose connection on the bladder for this? The tubing connection is blocked by the hard plastic sleeve that surrounds the tubing connection.

Hey Louie,

I've attached a link to the "How to clean a Hydraulics Reservoir" video. About 1min26sec in, they go through how to replace a hose:

Hope this helps.
