Why did you take a 5AM class? Are you sure this isn't a practical joke?

Throw your Osprey Flapjack on your shoulders, hop on your bike, and head to class. The blinker patch on the back of the pack will make you visible to motorists, even at this hour, and the earbud routers on the harness keep your extra-long headphone wires from being sucked into your chain. you can evn bring your new 15 inch laptop along with you, although it may not be ready to boot up this early.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I picked up this pack on SAC for $35, and at first I wasn't sure what I would use it for. I guess I thought it would be smaller than it really is. It's a great size, very useful, the laptop storage is huge, it completely envelops my 13" laptop, and there is plenty of room to spare. I was worried that it wouldn't have any type of organizer pockets for pens, snacks, wallet, etc, but it does. It has the large main compartment with the laptop sleeve, a smaller velcro-enclosed organizer with quite a few mesh pocket things, and then an even smaller zippered pocket (about the size of a smartphone or wallet. There is also a zippered water bottle pocket on the size, but ONLY on one side. I wish there was one on each side, but oh well. Quality on this pack is the best I've seen on any backpack I've owned, far and away better than north face, mountain hardwear, jansport, etc. It feels absolutely bombproof, and when wearing it, it sits amazingly well on your back. It's perfectly balanced and centered on your back, makes the load seem a lot smaller than it is. Really love this pack, wouldn't hesitate to buy it again at that price, and I would say it's worth the full asking price if you want a solid, durable, commuter pack. It's very spacious, enough for probably 3 college textbooks plus a laptop.

In my bag

I can fit a Mac laptop, two notebooks, my lunch, and some spare clothes. With lots of room to spare. And it is an amazing commuter bag if you ride a bike to work. Osprey makes superb bags and I love the Flapjack, especially as a commmuting cyclist.

I've read a couple reviews on some other sites, and a reviewer mentioned they could fit their 17" Macbook Pro in it. Can anyone else confirm this? I have a 17" hp, and am having a difficult time finding a bag that it will fit in to.

My boyfriend had a hard time finding a bag that fit his 17" PC Laptop for computer and this pack fit his laptop better than most. It sits a little high in the internal sleeve because 17" PC's are getting longer but less deep. But he likes the way it carries as a pack despite that and doesn't have any issues with it sitting ~2" higher in the sleeve than the sleeve is intended for--doesn't hurt functionality, it just looks a little odd.

Is the Flapjack waterproof?

Pack is constructed from tough 900-denier polyester that's treated with a Durable Water Repellent that causes water to bead up and roll off

It can take like sprinkles and such, but if you get caught in a downpour you're going to have one unhappy laptop.

Great Commuter Pack

I got this bag after a co-worker suggested it. She has the Flap-Jill version and gave it rave reviews. I was in need of a bag that would fit my laptop, work documents and gear for the daily commute. I ride a motorcycle to work, 30 mi round trip, this is honestly the most comfortable bag that I have ever ridden with. It feels balanced, well built, and very sturdy. I would recommend this to anyone who is on the go, especially if you are on two wheels...motor powered or human powered.
