Description

The only bath you'll be taking is a dip in the lake at the end of the day.

Osprey's Aura 65 Backpack gives women who hit the trail in warmer months the support and comfort they need to enjoy overnight and extended trips. You won't end up soaked in sweat on a sunny trail or warm, humid mountain trek thanks to the ventilating AirSpeed back panel, which is designed to circulate more air to keep you cool and comfortable. It does this with a LightWire alloy peripheral frame that creates a low-profile airspace while optimizing balance, as well as scalloped side openings that enhance cross-ventilation. Throw in a highly customizable fit, incredible light weight, a women-specific harness, and a host of pockets and features, and you get a pack that you'll turn to for adventure in any season.
  • Fine-tune your fit with different torso sizes to choose from and a hook-and-loop adjustable shoulder harness that moves over a 3-inch range
  • Slide-adjustable sternum strap helps take the load off your shoulders
  • Adjustable hip-belt uses dual-density foam for support and spacer mesh for breathability
  • Stow-on-the-Go trekking pole attachment lets you quickly tuck your poles out of the way without stopping to unload
  • Stretch front and side pockets give you extra storage and organization options
  • Zippered sleeping bag compartment includes divider
  • Two ice-axe loops with bungee tie-offs securely hold equipment
  • Zippered hip-belt pocket keeps your digital camera and energy gel packs close at hand
  • Internal hydration sleeve with clip makes it easy to get your fluids on the trail (reservoir not included)

This is a great pack with lots of great features! Plently of room for overnight/3day trips. The pack is pretty light and the venting is great! My favorite feature on this pack is the front mesh and two side pockets, they are great for storage! The hip belt is nicely cushioned and have hip pockets for phones, cameras, ect. I used this pack heavly in one season and it still looks in tip top shape.

Depends how much you want to travel, but I really can't recommend a better pack than this in the ~65L range.

would this pack be good for a 6 mo super-lightly-packed trek through SE Asia? Will be carrying laptop, small video camera, essentially 2 of each article of clothing and light gear (mosquito net, etc.)

You could probably fit all of that + a sleeping bag and tent in this, I would shoot for maybe a 40-50 liter pack. You can't go wrong with Osprey or Gregory.

That's awesome, considering I don't even plan on taking a tent (and I'm not travelling alone, so some of the communal stuff can be split). Thanks so much, especially for the super speedy response!

Wow - that sounds like an Awesome trip! Perfect pack, but you might even think Aura 50 if you are packing so light. This is my new favorite pack from Osprey, after being a devoted user and fan for the past 18 years!

If it fits well, yes. But for sure get it fitted before committing to it. The Aura's are now more customizable in their fit (adjustable torso length and hip belt size) and while the backpanel is still removed from the back for ventilation, it is closer to the back now so the center of gravity isn't as displaced as it has been in the past--meaning your balance will be thrown off less...

However, I do think that the Aura is not quite as good as the Ariel 65 for mountaineering. The Ariel is more customizable in fit. It also doesn't have a removed backpanel at all so the center of gravity is that much closer to your back...

They thought of everything with this pack, perfect capacity to be a several day backpacking pack while not making you feel like a mule weighed down. Very comfortable & allows air to your back ***NOTE: the purple is not purple in real life, its more a maroon/texas a&m color
