Whether you're alpine climbing, adventure racing, or just getting away for an overnighter, the Osprey Women's Aura 35 Backpack gives you ultralight versatility you need. Throw your sleeping bag and bivy into the easily accessible full-zip main compartment, an extra layer in the welded stretch-woven front pocket, a hydration reservoir into the roomy interior sleeve, and hit the trail. At only 2lb 9oz (medium), the Aura 35 pack won't slow you down. When you're moving fast and sucking wind, this ultralight pack's breathable mesh back panel circulates air to keep you cool, while its women's-specific hip-belt and shoulder straps give you custom-fit comfort. The AirSpeed suspension provides semi-flexible support and ErgoPull hip-straps draw your load evenly over your hips to eliminate pressure points. External daisy chain loops, removable sleeping pad straps, ice axe loops, and stretch woven side pockets add versatility to this bomber backpack.

Bottom Line: The women's-specific Osprey Aura 35 Backpack—go light, go fast, go without that annoying sweat patch on your back.

Best Pack.

This pack is most excellent. I love this pack because it is so comfortable. Sometimes I put all my gear in it and just wear it around the house it is so comfortable. When fitting this pack, put your gear in it and then adjust everything. If you try to fit this pack empty, you won't get it fitted properly. This pack fits really strange when it's empty. I loved it so much, now my boyfriend is getting one as well! The men's version of course.

A solid choice for a short trip

By:
December 1, 2010

After using the Aura 65 for about a year and totally loving it, I purchased this 35L pack to use on quick overnighters or trips that require less gear in general. While every body is different, the fit and comfort of this pack is perfect for me.However, some of the features are less convenient than its bigger counterpart. First, it's nearly impossible to fit a 70 mil reservoir in the mesh back panel, even though it's designed to do so. The opening is much smaller, and the mesh storage pocket gets in the way so you have to completely empty it out to even get to the back panel. Also, because the hood style is not a drawstring opening like the bigger version, it makes it a little more challenging to pack.Overall though, it's a solid pack for short trips and has held up well so far.

Are there any difference between the 2009 model and the 2008

Are there any difference between the 2009 model and the 2008 model? My friend has a 2008 one and I like it. I just want to know before commiting to the purchase.

yes, there are differences. i like the newer model (of the Atmos...male version) better than the old model basedon what I saw in the store (mostly frame changes).

Call Osprey...they were very helpful in explaining everything that they changed.

rain cover not?

By:
July 8, 2010

Beware that backcountry's Tech specs say rain cover but there does not appear to be one with the pack I just received and the owners manual says not. The Osprey Stratos does have an included rain cover. Perhaps Osprey offers something a la carte.

Osprey does offer a rain cover as an 'add-on'.

Do you think this would be okay as a carry-on?

It should be a pretty good size. A 35L pack isn't that big and it fits the rule of 45 carry on dimensions (L+H+W is less than 45in)

I think the medium pack would fit someone who is 5'8" well.
