The Osprey Atmos 35 Backpack is a crazily light pack designed for adventure racers that anyone going fast and hard will dig. Perforated waffle-foam and mesh contact areas mean you never have slimy, sweaty material against your skin, and semi-flexible AirSpeed suspension distributes the load while it moves with you. At a run, fast walk, or standing still puzzling over a map, the Atmos will be comfortable. Mesh pockets on the hipstrap keep energy gel or other racing essentials accessible on the fly, because you aren't done with your race, not by a long shot. A daisy chain and removable sleeping bag straps let you take along the right gear for you race, or shed a few ounces you don't need. Full-length dual-zipper panel opening means you can pull the whole bag open in seconds and fish out what you're after. Time is of the essence, and the Atmos is designed to save as much of it as possible.

Bottom Line: Leave a cloud of dust in your wake.

review ATMOS 35

The pack looked great. I really like the way the pack air panel was open to allow heat to dissipate. I had to send the pack back due to the construction of the lightweight mesh back panel. It would have had be great if I was in the States but here in Afghanistan felt that the mesh panel just would not ( SO MANY SHARP EDGES HERE UNLIKE ON THE TRAIL ) hold up being thrown in to vehicles and helos. One large cut in the mesh could make the back panel fail. Out here the environment is very unforgiving, but in the states this would be a good light and fast pack for hiking and adventure racing .

Goodbye Sweaty Back

For a lightweight pack, the atmos 35 and 50 both carry heavier loads exceptionally well. The suspension system does not lack, and the hip belt proves to disperse the weight. The best part about the pack is the mesh back panel which allows your back to breath, especially since the pack structure keeps the pack off your back. Another Great design by Osprey.
