A tool within a tool.

Snow may feel soft when it's falling on your tongue or when you're plowing through it on fat boards, but it's not, which is why you use the strong, light Ortovox Snow Saw that connects perfectly with the handle of your Kodiak or Beast avy shovel. For cutting that nice slab off your snow pit and watching the stability (or lack thereof), or cutting up some nice blocks for your night's snow shelter, this saw does the job in efficient fashion.

  • Aluminum alloy
  • Snow saw for use with shovel
  • Compatible with Kodiak and Beast shovels only

Haven't had a chance to use

I picked this up for this upcoming winter so I have not had a chance to use it but it interfaces well with my Beast shovel. It technically comes with a sheath for each side of the blade but it really only suffices for shipping and I can imagine getting frustrated with it in when I am actually using it. I had a sheath 3D printed into 2 pieces and then glued together. Its a bit bulkier but easier to use. The blade is also on the verge of being too long. It maxes the height out in my Ortovox backpack but it is able to be zipped in. Your mileage may vary if you are using a smaller or more minimalist pack. If it were any longer, it would need to have a hinge similar to the Brooks-Range saw.

Does anybody know if the 15.7" measurement is the total length of the saw including the shaft or just the blade? If its just the blade, does anyone know the total length?

I did a little Googling and found that the total length is about 22" and the 15.7" measurement is just the blade. Answering my own questions, its like high-fiving yourself (which I just did) BAM.

Will it connect to voile shovel handle or what is the inside diameter?

I would like to know the answer to this.
