Description

When your skis won't cut it, reach for the Ortovox Snow Saw.

Since your twintips aren't too great at cutting clean snow pit lines, take the lightweight Ortovox Snow Saw along on your next ski tour. Cut through snow with the bottom side of the Ortovox Snow Saw's blade, and hack through branches and other debris with the other. The Snow Saw's handle attaches to any Ortovox shovel for better grip and leverage while you check out the snow pack.

Seemed like a nice saw but it was too long to fit into my BD avalung covert 32L pack so I had to return it.

I have to agree, I have that same pack & saw, but you have to fit things in correctly like a puzzle for it all to fit in together.

Pretty sweet in general, the only thing missing is the case. You take cardboard/duct tape & make one, so I'm not worried about that. The new Ortovox shovels have a different shape shaft that fit into the snow saw, so that is the one surprise I found, but not too worried about it.

I'll probably pick up an Ortovox Beast shovel sometime down the road. It is narrow enough it fits into my BD Corvert pack nicely in the slots for probe, shovel shaft & snow saw.

If you have the Ortovox Beast avi shovel, the snow saw connects to the base of the shaft. It'll gives another 2-3 foot reach when doing snowpits. Sad to say, I have older Ortovox shovel that that has a different size width shaft, they don't fit.

Greatest thing ever. Cuts wood really well (only tested on firewood while camping not on debris in a slide). So light and nice I might take it camping in the summer just as a saw.

Be aware this item does not come with the sleeve/case. The picture that shows the case is not supposed to be there. besides that its a great saw

You can buy those accessories separately. i.e: sleeve, shovel

I assume with cardboard & duct one can be assembled.
