Grab your buddies and build a gigantic backcountry booter like those hellions in the fancy movies. Use the Ortovox Alaska D Avalanche Shovel to build it and you’ll be guaranteed to land everything you try. That’s how the movie guys do it. Plus, if there’s an avalanche, you can use the shovel to build an enormous wall to deflect the slide away from your jump.

  • Torsion-free aluminum and magnesium blade will not flex or break
  • Two-piece telescopic handle assembles quickly and easily in an emergency
  • Powder-coated shaft reduces vibration that causes fatigue
  • Design by street artist Christian Hundertmark for added pizzaz

Bottom Line: At least we think that’s how it works.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.
