Magma Jacket - Men's

The Orage Men’s Magma Jacket flows over the hill and fries anything that gets in its way. With a 20K-waterproof rating and the sleek style that Orage is known for, this jacket is definitely the mountain’s hot sauce. Picture yourself flowing down the cirque at full tilt while this seam-sealed jacket with articulated elbows and a 180-degree vision hood brushes through pow leaving nothing but a powdery wake behind it. Orage added a ski pass system to make it easier to get scanned, and hand gaiters to further block the snow.

Bottom Line: Orage brings the heat.

Haven't had a chance to try it in the wild yet but I'm very impressed by this jackets construction. It's simple but has very nice, functional features. I like how the zipper tabs are long enough to grab with gloves on, the hood is removable, and a central fleece panel on the inside feels like it'll keep you warm. Lightly insulated and not bulky, follow the sizing chart and you'll get a great fitting jacket. I'll report back when I hit the pow.

Lightly insulated, the back of the jacket on the inside has a nice layer of fleece that should help with the cold. But if you're in real nasty weather I'm sure a base layer would be a good call.

Great Jacket - Good work Orage

By:
February 4, 2009

Bought this at start of this season (09'). 3 days snowboarding so far and jacket has been great. Plently warm even in 15F / -1F (wind chill conditions). Good breatability, waterproofing and OK windproofing (a little wind gets through when blowing gale).

Great low bulk insulation, hand gaiters, powder skirt, pit zips, lots of inside and outside pockets make this great feature packed jacket. Hood even goes over large Giro helmet (although it can be hard to keep it up there).

Only downside is that the marron / bronze colour is really brown and not green as shown in pictures. Still looks cool so happy with purchase.
