The Optimus Titanium Folding Spoon is light and compact for backpacking, yet strong and sturdy enough for mixing and serving a hearty meal of chili at any campsite. Optimus's Slidefix locking mechanism makes sure the spoon doesn't fold in on itself when you're halfway through the meal.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have this spoon and it's perfect! I do wish I had picked up the spork, because sometimes I take tinfoil dinners and need prongs. But, it still works great and is perfect for backpacking meals.

It's very light, functions perfectly, collapses down to a great size, and cleans up easily. Oh, and all the features work great. It's been very durable.

This photo is of me, having forgotten my spoon. I found an ice cream sample spoon, in my pack. How it got in there, I have no idea. Maybe from my trip to Yellowstone who's name should maybe be changed to Coldstone, because of all their great ice cream shops! Anyway, I was stuck eating with a tiny spoon and missed my Optimus Titanium spoon, very much! Gave my friends a good laugh, though.

    Don't leave home without it.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I needed a long spoon for backpacking and eating out of the backpacking meal pouches. This one was the lightest I could find, and it works great.

I also dislike sporks very much. For whatever that's worth.

The compact size is also great if you just need to pack your breakfast or lunch for a day on the job.
