Optimus created the Stella Plus Stove to give you the flame adjustability and stability of a large stove with a tiny 4 x 4-inch folded size. This 8.8oz stove also includes a built-in Piezo igniter to get you cooking fast and get some dinner in your belly. The Stella Plus Stove boils a liter of water in only 3 minutes, and runs full blast for 60 minutes with a 220g butane fuel canister. This Optimus stove unfolds to provide a stable platform for a 2-liter pot, which makes it a solid choice for group camping.

Bottom Line: The Optimus Stella Plus Stove packs small, weights little, sets up quickly, and boils fast.

This thing is the best! Super stable, excellent controls (including piezo starter) located remotely, packs down to nearly nothing.

Will it be effective below freezing point? Does it accept Primus-style

Will it be effective below freezing point? Does it accept Primus-style self-sealing canisters? TIA

Yes & no. Yes if the fuel canister is near full and yes at higher altitude because of lower atmospheric pressure. No if the cannister is less than half full. None of the cannister fuel stoves are great for cold weather. The more volitile gas cooks off first and the remainder just doesn't cut it in the cold. Works with any of the small screw-top canister fuels. My understanding is the screw size and pitch are standardized, plus the canisters all come out of one of just two factories.I've found performance levels drop off significantly below 25 degrees F. This stove will work with Primus fuel canisters.

Great Camp Stove

This stove provides a very stable platform for pots. The Crux burner head cooks as hot as the best, but spreads the flame out so I can sautee and simmer, not scorch. Love the gas and piezzo controls that are distant from the burner and pot. If you are tired of tipping over pots of boiling water or soup----this stove is worth the extra weight and cost. Also, you can put a windscreen around the burner, since the canister is removed from the burner.
