Despite its aqueous name, The O’Neill Men’s Vapor Jacket ensures that those who wear it won’t experience moisture of any kind thanks to its three-layer eVent shell fabric. In addition to fully waterproof breathable protection, this jacket features a zip-off powder skirt and stretchy wrist gaiters to keep snow away from your toasty-warm core. Mesh-backed underarm zip vents let you dump excess heat, and interior pockets for your goggles and MP3 player keep you organized.

Bottom Line: Moisture is no match for the Vapor.

What is the weight of this jacket? I was thinking of getting one and using it for both my shell for snowboarding, as well as my rain jacket when backpacking. Would this jacket fit the bill for both uses?

Weight: 2.00lbs

eVent is 100% waterproof and this jacket would hold up great to the rain. When compared to other "rain" jackets, this is definitely on the bulky side...I guess, its up to you whether you want to pack it.

Disclaimer. I pretty much designed this jacket over the last few years. It is legit though. It is the best jacket I have ever had.
